So far so good on both audio & video files on kodi. Deadbeef still working great - seems not to have been affected by this update.

Once again, many thanks to all involved for taking the time & effort to fix this.

Re: Analogue audio testing

I've updated firmware in rpi-update to still do some of the sdram calibration (but avoid disabling it during the calibration) when audio_pwm_mode=2. This gets us a step closer to making audio_pwm_mode=2 a default option. Would be useful if testers can update and confirm there are no regressions. St...

For the sound issue, try adding dtparam=audio=on to your config.txt. Ref

Re: Analogue audio testing

Yes.

But playing video files also result in weird audio behaviour with the audio_pwm_mode=2 setting.

Re: Analogue audio testing

That means that it's an audio_pwm_mode=2 problem. What audio/video are you playing with Kodi? Can you upload a sample file somewhere? I think I made a balls-up... It looks like I rebooted in another terminal whilst not saving my config.txt when I commented out the audio_pwm_mode=2 . There is a conf...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Just have an issue with playing audio via Kodi: audio (mp3) plays in start/stop fashion every few seconds. Other media's audio plays fine. Is this a Kodi issue? Do you still have the issue when audio_pwm_mode=2 is removed? If you don't then it's a audio_pwm_mode issue which belongs here. If you do ...

Re: Analogue audio testing

Thanks for fixing this.

Audio plays great [deadbeef audio player] at any volume level.

Is this a Kodi issue?

This is on archlinux.

Re: Analogue audio testing

RPi 2B - experiencing audio drops (after about an hour-and-a-half with deadbeef ). Only way to get audio working again is to quit deadbeef & start it again. With kodi = unplayable audio (mp3). vcgencmd get_config int arm_freq=1000 audio_pwm_mode=2 audio_sdm_mod_order=2 config_hdmi_boost=5 disable_a...

How about archlinux arm (alarm)...? From the website Simple We are a port of Arch Linux, which aims for simplicity and full control to the end user. We provide a light-weight base structure that allows you to shape the system to your needs. After installation - Pi2 , you are left with a barebones ba...

Kernel oops when plugging in/out USB devices

Hi, Whenever I plug in/out an USB device (storage, modem, etc) , I get a kernel oops. I have tried the official Arch Linux ARM forums, but no luck. If I run on kernel 4.1.15 from a disk image made end Jan-2016, I do not experience this issue. I see that the issue has been reported here ... Is this i...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Q&A thread

Has the RCA audio been improved for low volume usage (hiss was ever present) ...? The only fix (that worked for me) was on Pi2 to have the volume at max on the output hardware.
