大人の教育、小生が参加してこの半年の印象ですが、General Discussions, Beginners などでは、ホビーに仕事に大変意欲ある貴重な人達が困っている姿をたくさん知りました。RP財団の趣旨としても、コンピュータを応用していくための電子回路の接続に子供に習わせたいであろうオームの法則やモータにLED素子などの基本的知識を、フォーラムに訪れる大人達が殆ど会得できていないことは、その対応がこの財団に大きな価値をもたらすことでしょう。GPIOポートの用法を大人向けにまとめるだけでもすぐに役立つと思いました。

reply to arnuvm on Motor Control Basically important knowledge for controlling things by GPIO is that the GPIO's power of each output is only for information for controllings via little voltage and thin current such as 3.3 v and several mA, rather than for mechanical controlling with realistic power...

It is important to refer accuracy of mostly used AD converters for RPi or Arduino as at most about 1/4000 that is 12bit type, seems to fit practically to that 0.1 C.

And about your leading wire connecting to the hot nichrome (
not for GPIO) you can try a cable rather thicker than the nic just like you see in toasters with heat protecting sleeve.

The reason seems to be insufficient microUSB plug connection, thinner cable or Power Supply.
Please try to check voltage by a multimeter then you can find what is wrong and your solution.

I think your method of troubleshooting is fine as changing SD then cool and trying the SD again then hot.
Recommended is to ensure exact plug-in connection also.
