Re: Charging Li-ion cells

I haven't used the charging board from bangood but adafruit do a similar board (more exoensive) and that worked well for me. The board you have shown will take the output from your battery pack and regulate it to 5V. It will also allow you to recharge the batteries without disconnecting them. You wo...

Yep into my second six month subscription and now got two 'bundles' the first when they gave away th Pi Zero on the front of the MagPi the second on the current deal. My only comment would be that there is little incentive to go for a twelve month subscription in case I miss out on an offer

Re: Solar Powered Raspberry Pi Camera

Have you looked at this thread? It may give you some ideas. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=149855 But to answer your question we need a bit more information. Are you taking stills or video, if so how many or how long? How long will the pi be on? Will it just be on once per n...

Just use a light sensor mounted to detect the blades passing then divide the pulsed output by the number of blades

Re: Wind Turbine Modelling Kit using Pi as "Data Logger"

Hi kieran, the pi doesnt have a built in anologue input so you will need to connect another board to get your variable dc signal into the pi. These are available for about a tenner for a 12 bit ADC in the UK. A quick google came up with this one:- https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/adafruit-12-bit-a...

Re: Conveyor/Automation Project... Is it possible?!?

To do this project you will ahve to learn to programme the Pi and much as I love them , they aren't the right solution for this imho. You would be better learning to programme the plc or finding a local contractor to do it. Having said that if you want to go down this road it is possible and I'd be ...

I'm using a power booster pack for a phone, got it as a free gift from screwfix, gives 6000mAh. Will run my pi 3, headless and reading sensors on gpio for about 12 hours no problem.

Have you tried a port forwarding check eg http://www.canyouseeme.org

Your ISP may be blocking it?

Re: Using Android to prepare sd-card

If your Pi uses an sd card rather than a usd then yes you can just use a converter sd card rather than a card reader. However all current Pi models use usd?

Re: Can't access to Rpi apache2 web server

If your url is working to the router and you can still get to your website on your network then the issue is probably the port forwarding. Check you've set it ok and saved the settings on the router.

Re: Can't access to Rpi apache2 web server

Its not really my area but if it was me i would try and break the system down to see where the fault lie, so first of all is your url pointing to your router? Try turning of the port forwarding and see if you get as far as the router, you would see the admin login page. If that works then everything...

Re: Raspberry Pi Necessary Modules

I would suggest going for the latest, most powerful version, the PI3. That way you ensure it will remain available and supported for as long as possible. The fact it is the same price a s a PI2 also helps in this. You could look at a PI Zero but the extra processing power of the PI3 makes the decisi...

Re: Using Raspberry Pi for Balloon Satellite

From a hardware point of view there is no reason that you can't achieve this. The Raspberry Pi is capable, the wifi range is ok, and the camera will be able to interface and the data processed. It'll be interesting to hear how you get on You might find this site useful https://opensource.com/life/15...

Re: Webcam robot power solution

A battery   Sorry but without more information its hard to answer. The type of battery depends on the robot, the pi and the connected peripherals and their power requirements. Batteries can be a standard AA pack , a phone battery all the way up to car batteries. It really does depend on th...

Re: Power question regarding motors

At 6v and 2.4 w you will have approx 100mA available for each motor if use are turning them all at the same time. This is probably insufficient but it really depends on the motors and how you are using them. Most small dc motors require about 400 mA+ when they start turning. Do you have a model/type...
