Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Yay! Just curious, was it due to fixes in .35 & .36 or or a fix pulled from upstream? Nothing in .35/.36 jumped out at me. Looks like it was self inflicted - in the past in order to save memory Pi specific patch was applied. https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/commit/cd6ce4d0ded13c94ff5208c679ed5e...

cgroups is back in with latest rpi-update kernel and hopefully memory leak is still fixed.
Great news! Have upgraded one RPi and initial tests look promising. Memory leak is not anymore. I will keep an eye on this and let it run for longer doing some real life jobs.

Re: Driver installation impossible? RTL8812AU

I used the github source suggested by sealy_au - https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au MrEngman Thank you. This source is highly customized for aircrack. Has logging and access to /proc disabled etc.. For 8812au I would suggest more generic one from https://github.com/zebulon2/rtl8812au-driver-5...

Re: Driver installation impossible? RTL8812AU

MrEngman - I have noticed that you have upgraded 8812au drivers to v5.2.20.2_28373.20180619. And finally my TP-Link -T4UHv1 seems to be stable on ac 5GHz channels. I have been fighting with ac stability for quite long trying multiple github sources. The best results I had were with v5.2.20_25672.201...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Potential workaround for the inode slab leak is now available in rpi-update kernel. Affected users, please update and report back. The workaround disables memory and IO cgroups which appears to be the cause of the leaks. I tested all cases causing issues previously with 4.19 and now they all pass. ...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

Mostly a scheme for isolating resource usage for collections of processes. Mostly used for virtualisation, or containerisation (like docker). I don't think 99% of users will notice its absence, but this is what the test builds are for. If things stop working due to its absence, then report it here....

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

I've tried that last patch and it didn't fix the problem. A lot of the other proposed patches floating around on the mailing list have either already applied. One of them was applied upstream, then churned a bit and then reverted. If anybody could link me to some other patches or commits, I could g...

Re: Moving Linux kernel to 4.19

After upgrading to 4.19 system sometimes hangs during soft reboot (it looks like it goes down but then hangs during start). I think I identified what is causing it in my setup. I tested it with multiple Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 with various setup (LAN, wifi, USB devices). Results are always the same. In...

Re: Pi as DNS Forwarder using DoH (DNS over HTTPS)

Have had the same issue. I have fixed it by changing cloudflared dns address from 127.0.0.1 to local IP address in my case 192.168.1.2

/etc/cloudflared/config.yml

Code: Select all

proxy-dns: true
proxy-dns-upstream:
proxy-dns-address: 192.168.1.2
