Re: I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

. Pi won't boot anything. By your own description that is untrue. See my previous reply. If you put a copy of the NOOBS Installer on the card and when powered up the screen showed you that error message about resizing partitions then the RPi most definitely did boot from the microSD card. Ok. I'm n...

Re: I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

Do you have another computer that you could image write a Raspbian image onto one of your cards, if you have I'd do that to get a working system first, & then see if you have anything on the original disk that you could copy over. :) Sorry already tried this. Pi won't boot anything. I think it'...

Re: I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

Edit: .... I also installed NOOBs on a new card and I get the error saying Error: resizing existing FAT partition. (This is a new card by the way. It has no FAT partition.) Error: Unable to satisfy all constraints on the (non-existent) partition. This is an ongoing (occasional) problem with parted ...

Re: I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

To troubleshoot this, when you see the list of oses, hold down ctrl& alt keys and press the F2 function key. Login to the recovery console with username=root, password=raspberry. Now type: ls /settings You should have a file called os_installed.json cat /settings/os_installed.json will list its...

Re: I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

OK, I'm posting this from my NOOBS installed version of Raspbian, so I'm guessing you must have done something to your card. Edit: I noticed something about holding down the shift key when I booted up, a recovery mode, give that a try, hold down the shift key when you try booting your card. Y...

Re: How to boot Raspbian after installing Kano

Sounds like you started to use the NOOBS image for installing Raspbian and OSMC which keeps a small partition on your SD-Card so that when you want to switch between installations you can. BUT... Kano is not available on Noobs so you must have written it to the SD Card overwriting the partition tha...

I have NOOBS on a SD card and my installed OS has gone!

Ok. Someone please help. I have a SD card with NOOBS on it and I have an OS (Raspbian PIXEL) installed on it with loads of files on it. I shutdown the pi and put in a new SD card with Kano OS on it and boot that. Then I put my original raspbian card back in the pi. Boot it up and... BOOM! I get the ...

Re: HAT for Pi Zero

There is no real name assigned for the PiZero form factor HAT's. I chose to call mine Cap as it is much smaller than a HAT. Besides some people claim that berets or other head wear belonging to the class fascinators would be appropriate. On the other side HAT is probably an acronym meaning somethin...
