Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

I heard ARM drivers in SD cards are created to 1 000 cycles at least... I used Pi 2 year with Verbatim 32 GB and card is still kicking too! I am data minimalist! Few MB up to few hunderds of documents are more then enough for me, so I use my old cards (SLC only!) from cameras: CF, MS Pro, MMC, SD, ...

Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

But i am not sure still - if you fill 32 GB to 30 GB and let it sit, it will really move and rewrite itself all data around? Is this directly in SD specs somewhere? Logic says that if you have low GB capacity on SD, you should move it on PC sometimes and write again so it is always on another new fr...

Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

Some products are limited to 32 GB SDHC - ebook readers, tablets, consoles (NDS), ...

If you have 2-3 GB free, you are still writing on the same place, not?

Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

If you have on some few GB, is it better to let AI shuffle data after each write and let it move and re-write data randomly or after each cca 1 month write whole card again, so written places "move around" more?

Pls advice! Thx!

You don't really HAVE to use it. Nobody is holding you by knife... Use Firefox mostly and Kroum just for YouTube etc.

Re: I dont get it... Why is everyone from science schools so obsessed with Perl and Python when we got C?

And the criticism I get is, why did I use Assembly Language. There are plenty of other things that people could criticize about that code, though they ignore all the other stuff, and target my choice to use a little bit of assembly language. I should actually elaborate on that a touch, as the wordi...

Re: How long will it take for Risc OS to be on todays level of Raspbian?

Just beware that Risc OS with 90 % more driver code etc. is not more chunky like another Linux ;). I do not think it will be that much of a difference. And because of the way that RISC OS works, it is very unlikley that adding more HW support will make a difference in the performance, it is a very ...

This also co-explains why is so popular Java as its very readable code... You write more, but man, you will be happy when you edit it again back in 5 years!

Also you can use "var" as C#, so

var s = new String();

DavidS, If you write a function definition as: CalcPosErr(...); I'm almost certain you will put a comment on it like: // Calculate position error And you would be wrong on that. If there is a need to explain parameters I will put a comment to that effect, though why repeat the name that is already ...

Re: I dont get it... Why is everyone from science schools so obsessed with Perl and Python when we got C?

I agree!

Problem is human psychology too: test shows that people have tendency to first judge word by its first and last character.

So people notice at once that it is "Heater" even when you write "Heaterar" or "Heatr" (especially if it is subject) instead and ""Aheate notice fastest.

Re: I dont get it... Why is everyone from science schools so obsessed with Perl and Python when we got C?

With edit/compile/test cycles easily taking 15 minutes you quickly learn to plan out your code rather than "designing at the keyboard" which seems to be popular these days. I must respectfully disagree with this. I have worked on big codebases which indeed took over 10 minutes to compile, and I fou...
