Freezes while playing audio (alsa)

I am running headless raspbian over ssh and sometimes sound playback stops, freezing the program playing back, it doesnt react to ctrl C and can only be forced to the background with ctrl Z and then has to be killed with -9 OR i can play around (probably resetting stuff) with the volume with alsamix...

You can try to plug the SD card into another computer and use a tool like gparted to alter the partitions (make sure the SD card is not mounted). I really dont like raspi config, it screwed up for me a few times too.

An easy solution would be to use gparted (http://gparted.org/ available on pretty much all sorts of linux) to alter the size of the partition. There might be windows tools to do that.
