Crontab not running

Hi all.
I'm sure Im doing something stupid but I cant get any crontab jobs to run :0(
Even a simple one like this does nothing
1 * * * * sudo touch /home/pi/test.txt

that command works from the command prompt.
I've tried crontab -e and sudo crontab -e , neither work.
Any ideas?

My PI2 is also giving the same error :0(
Not sure where to go from here. If it was /is a general Linux upgrade issue
I'd have expected to see a lot more noise on the issue , but nothing out of
the ordinary.
I'm going to try it at work today and see if I get the same results.

I don't want to exit Kodi , I just want to switch to the desktop so I can run the browser , then later switch back to Kodi.

I had the same issue.
Increase your raspberry pi video ram to 256M , or bigger if you want.

Monitoring whos connected to my pi

Hi to all. Is it possible to tell who is connected (via Ethernet) to my pi at any time. I'm looking for something similar to Windows "Computer Management" where you can see who has what files open ,shares etc. I'm sure it's possible. I've tried things like nmap , but that didn't give me what I want....

GeeXLab_FREE_rpi_gles , permission denied :0(

I'm trying to run the GeeXLab demo program on my Pi3 , but I keep getting "Permission Denied" error.
I've set all the permissions that I can think of.
Any idea where to look from here. I'm fairly new to Linux , so I'm not sure what to do.

I did have port 22 forwarded to the pi , so I could access it remotely. As it turns out , so did someone else :0)
If I use a strong password , is that generally enough protection (at least against a brute force attack) ,
or is there something else I should be doing?

A quick search on that shows I should probably re-install :0(

The access to the Pi is fine. I get the remote login screen (via remote desctop or PUTTY) , it just does not accept my password anymore. The pi boots to the desktop no problem , I just can't remote login.

Yes , I just checked.
When I run wvdial 3gconnect I get:

I was starting to think along those lines.
Just write a python script that monitors a directory for a file. If it appears , turn on the led :0)
Not exactly elegant , but should work.

Thanks Shuckle , you were correct.
I forgot to restart the motion service after I removed the sudo in the
config file. Face plant......
The code to turn on the led is still not working, but that must be some other issue.
