Re: scriptexecutor problem

Yeah, I'm just looking into some CM3 booting problems now...

Might be worth reverting the firmware back to when maxnet originally wrote the scriptexecutor to see if that helps?

Re: Compute Module V3 with LAN9512

It definitely looks like there is a problem with with power, reset or clocking, since it clearly starts up properly then drops out... I would initially assume reset, but would have expected it to just drop off the USB bus if that was asserted, so maybe clocking or power is worth looking further into...

Re: Mass deployment on Raspberry Compute Module 3.0

The scriptexecutor buildroot is ideal for this sort of thing if you have an ethernet interface available on your target... Basically it is a buildroot configuration that you push over USB (using the standard rpiboot code) that boots up and gets an http link from the cmdline.txt file. It will then wg...

Re: Rpi3 B + Official Touchscreen + Official Power Supply (revisited)

Either way is fine, the polyfuse shouldn't be a problem, it's rated at 2.5A which should be the maximum supply anyway! It's safe either way, and is also safe for you to have two separate power supplies for both boards (there is a protection device to handle the case of two slightly different power s...

Re: Compute Module V3 with LAN9512

I think there's a problem with the Ethernet part of the 9512. It's when this is enumerated and initialised that things start to go wrong. Where did you get the schematics for it? Did you just follow the microchip datasheet?

Wonder if there's a problem with power...

Yes, the latest kernel has support, otherwise it wouldn't work in Raspbian

Re: Compute Module 1 does not boot with upgraded bootloader

Are you sure it's not booting at all? i.e. can you scope out the eMMC lines and check that it is reading the eMMC.

After that, check the LED line, is that being driven low at boot time?

Also what dt-blob.bin are you using? Do you have your own or are you using the one built into the code?

Re: CM3s that die

OK, you answered about using the latest version of the software, have you tried flashing it using the CMIO3 board? If the problem persists, it would be good if you'd be able to send it to us for debugging... I'm guessing the problem is related to the MSD software running on the CM3 in some way. Does...

Have you updated to the latest version of https://github.com/raspberrypi/usbboot

Re: EMC problems at 426 MHz with DPI24 enabled

One other thought we had is whether this is some multiplication of the audio PWM output frequency and the PCLK frequency

Can you try setting the PWM outputs to inputs using raspi-gpio tool to see if this has any effect?

Re: EMC problems at 426 MHz with DPI24 enabled

With the CM3+CMIO3 board, if you switch the alternate setting does the peak disappear?

Can you terminate the clock line on the CMIO3 board with a suitable resistance, probably around 100R should suffice.

Re: EMC problems at 426 MHz with DPI24 enabled

If the peak disappears when you change the alternate setting on the CLK pin then the problem can only be one of the following: 1) insufficient capacitance / poor power supply to CM3 2) ground loops in the CLK signal from the CM3 to the display 3) The display It's possible the display itself is causi...

Re: EMC problems at 426 MHz with DPI24 enabled

If it goes away when you set the GPIO to no longer output the clock then the problem is the clock. What is the PCLK frequency you have set (did you measure it with a scope?) It's almost definitely standard problems with DPI, there are 26 signals at 3.3v all going up and down at around half the clock...

Re: ssh over usb to a Compute Module 3

If you use the dwc2 driver, it supports both device and host modes, but uses the OTG_ID pin to decide on which mode to choose, we currently have a pull down on the OTG_ID pin to default it to host mode... What you'll need to do is to force it into peripheral mode using dtoverlay=dwc2,dr_mode=periphe...

I would suggest if anyone is still having this problem, update usbboot rebuild and run rpiboot again... Re: CM3 working with Buildroot?

Are you booting the buildroot from the eMMC or over USB? If you're trying to push it over USB and you are using a CMIO board (or you are using something with the same eMMC disable functionality when you plug in something to the USB host) then you'll need to disable the activity LED and drive the pin...

Can you not use the -l command line option to make rpiboot sit in a loop continuously booting attached devices?

It did work the last time I tested it (but that may well have been over a year ago now)

Re: eMMC not mounting after rpiboot

Might be worth switching back to the version of usbboot you had when you originally got it working, if that still works then see if you can identify which change actually broke it... I assume the CM3 still boots as it is (i.e. you're happy that the eMMC is working correctly otherwise) it's just that...
