Re: Banding on video but not on Stills

Hi, Using the camera module I get banding across the image when recording video, but not when taking stills. There are two bands, each approx. 1/8th of the depth of the screen running all the way across. I am using an iPad charger for my pi, so I don't think it is a power issue. Has anyone else see...

Re: Banding on video but not on Stills

My camera hasn't yet arrived (tomorrow? Tuesday?) but what you describe sounds suspiciously like Mains ripple - twice in the mains cycle the 5v is dipping, and that will occur at the same place in the camera frame. So, yes, it could be power You are correct! After determining that there is no way t...

Does

Code: Select all

raspistill -o image.jpg -t 0
do what you need?

Re: New guy needing some direction

There are tools out there to read data via OBDII connections that may help achieving some of the scope. It can get, depending on the car, speed, G, pressure data directly from the sensors already on the vehicle. The OBDII connection can be either wired of wireless (Bluetooth). I did look into this a...

Re: USB wifi adapter

Dweeber, What model of AirLink101 do you have? I can see 6 on their website.

I'm looking to get a USB wifi for my Pi, and want to ensure that I get one that at least one other person has got working.

Re: The projects list. Look here for some ideas.

My 1st project has actually turned out to use the RPi to interface with my energy meter, dump the data into a mySQL database, and serve it up on a web-page as a graph. This is all running on the RPi itself. It has actually turned out to be a rather fun experiment in bolting items together, and addin...

Re: Strange Perl USB intialisation problem

Hi, I'm running a fully updated Wheezy build in my Pi (as far as I can tell - apt-get update, upgrade until no more packages applied). The CurrentCost I have is the eon provided model, which I believe is an ENVI identifyting itself as model CC128-v1.29. To see if I could reproduce your results I iss...

Re: Strange Perl USB intialisation problem

Hi, Check the baud rate - It was 57600 for the currentcost that I have (the e.on supplied ENVI). I have mine pulling the data in using a very simple python program. import serial ser=serial.Serial('/dev/ttyUSB0', 57600) line=ser.readline() There is much more that needs to be done with it, especially...

Re: SD Card performance in R-Pi onboard slot

I am interested in testing a few of my cards. What is the correct way to determine which firmware / kernel I am running? When I run uname -a it always returns the same value.

Re: The projects list. Look here for some ideas.

I have 3 main projects in mind; Teach my son to program a little bit; to show him the joy I discovered 32 years ago. This in itself will be a number of sub projects as I find interesting things for him to do. Use the RPi to interface and control his Hornby DCC trains. This one is going to be a bit o...
