Re: REVIEW: X850 mSATA SSD storage expansion board

Hi guys, Any update on the reboot isuue? I have successfully set it up and boots (cold boot) but if I fire up ''sudo reboot'' the board will never reboot and will remain in a state when only the red led is on. I have to reconnect the USB cable manually in order for it to boot. Can anyone please guid...

Re: PIA VPN configuration

Yes.I'm running Jessie, the latest one. I just combined the 2 posts - the one referrng to installing and configuring openvpn I posted above, as well as the second, that one you suggested. I used the part of starting at reboot only from your post. The key was to generate a copy of the .ovpn file with...

Re: PIA VPN configuration

Yeah, it works! :P I used this part of the article you suggested: ''After you’ve installed openvpn, you’ll need to choose a VPN provider. Ensure that the one you choose, supports Linux and Openvpn. If it’s a good provider, they will provide you with the option of downloading an OpenVPN configuration...

Re: PIA VPN configuration

Hello, I have successfully configured PIA VPN on my Pi after hours of messing around with different guides and instructions. My only problem now is I can't get my Pi to connect to my PIA VPN automatically after every reboot. Therefore, I have to manually start the script everytime I boot my Pi : sud...

Re: VPN Server No Internet

Hello, Sorry for reviving an old thread but I had this problem and still having it after every reboot. After I had set up PiVPN, I could connect to my private tunnel via my Android Client but couldn't get internet access. When I run these 2 commands as suggested above $ sudo /sbin/iptables -P FORWAR...

Re: Convert MJPEG stream intto H.264 format

It's not hard to notice that uvc is one module and raspicam is another module...RTFM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTFM Scroll back and re-read what I wrote. I'm new to this stuff. AND YES, the documentation is limited for someone who is not familiar with a procedure like this. For the usb driver i...

Re: Convert MJPEG stream intto H.264 format

See UV4L http://linux-projects.org It can stream hardware-encoded H264 to your android peer directly. It can also produce H264 from an MJPEG stream if you need this for some strange reasons. Thank you very much about that. This is really what was looking for. Of course, the h.264 stream is absolute...

Re: Convert MJPEG stream intto H.264 format

You could try using gstreamer1-0 and use HW acceleration by the GPU using its omx module. I use it for live TV stream transcoding to low bitrate h264 streams. That's really interesting. Will I be able to connect to that output in server mode by reaching http://Rpi_address:port? If this is possible,...

Re: Convert MJPEG stream intto H.264 format

Thanks for the reply. Right, I see. I expected to see a higher workload of the Pi CPU but since mjpg-streamer doesn't require much CPU power, I thought I'd be able to run something else aside mjpg-streamer to do the conversion. So, it doesn't seem to worth the try if I'm not going to get decent fram...

Convert MJPEG stream intto H.264 format

Hello. First of all, I'm new to the Raspberry Pi thing. I recently got to set up 2 RPi's running mjpg-streamer and fed those streams to an android server. My question is, if there's a way to convert the MJPEG output into H.264 format in order to save a bit of bandwidth in my local network. It would ...

Re: Memory split?

Thank you very much for the answer.

I thought so. I just wondered if any GPU memory needed for the decoding as 1080p is a quite demanding resolution.

Cheers.

Re: Memory split?

Hello, I got a B+ model running motion with a USB camera. I'm also planning to replace that with a 1080p USB camera in the near future for full HD results. My question is, what would the ideal balance be between CPU and GPU memory? Should I leave the GPU memory at 128? Should I lower or should I inc...
