How To Best Detect A Missing Object Using Non-contact Methods
I am trying to detect when an object is missing from its location and then send out an alarm if it is missing (alarm could audible or blinking LED). Need a non-contact method of sensing such as IR or ultrasonic technologies perhaps. The distance is about 3 to 4 inches. It must be simple, low cost, v...

Re: Jacuzzi Automation via WiFi Using The Raspberry Pi 3
What category would you suggest it be put into? Oh, and how do I change that. I guess I did not think this was a terribly difficult project. It only involves switching relays so that was my thinking for putting it in the Beginner section.Creativian wrote:Are you sure this belongs in the Beginners section?

Jacuzzi Automation via WiFi Using The Raspberry Pi 3
CAUTION: This project involves high voltages and currents so proper precautions must be used to avoid injury or death. I am not an electrician so proceed accordingly. To demonstrate how I automated our Jacuzzi over WiFi, I just needed to open and close a few existing switches using relays to: 1. Tu...

Re: Raspberry Pi2 Hijacked
Yes, I hear you. I try hard not to do stupid things like this and I was still taken on this one. I have an extra SD card loaded with clean software and a clone on my laptop just in case it ever happens again.

Raspberry Pi2 Hijacked
I was trying to used VNC Viewer to remotely view my RPi2 from my iPhone. The iPhone VNC Viewer app was continually tying to negotiate a connections. When tried to trouble shoot no connection, I found information that I needed to have software on my Pi for it to work. There were both products that co...

Part 2: Webcam Over WAN: Raspberry Pi 2 & Rpi Cam(B) 2.0
In my original post (see https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=134141 ) I provided script for a pan/tilt Raspberry Pi Camera that used an LED and Photo resistor to locate home position. Since that post, I have learned that the ambient light is a big factor in an outdoor weather cam appl...

Re: Web Cam Over WAN: Raspberry Pi 2 & Rpi Cam(B) 2.0
I checked out the Linux-Projects demo on YouTube from the link you provided and it had a few people from a month ago that could not get it to work with no solutions provided which is not encouraging to me. Look better. The questions from 1 user - 1 out of many K total users - have been answered. An...

Re: Web Cam Over WAN: Raspberry Pi 2 & Rpi Cam(B) 2.0
I had to stop reading at "Create your own YouTube Live account" Why on Earth do I want anything to do with YouTube to make my Pi video available on the internet? Why not? It works way better than many of the streaming services, I've tested a lot of them for a project I run, youtube was my...

Re: Web Cam Over WAN: Raspberry Pi 2 & Rpi Cam(B) 2.0
This is a fantastic video camera! However, to make this webcam work required way too much research time and effort so I thought I would take a few moments to provide my lessons learned with the hope it will help make the lives of other novices, like myself, a little better. This is the easiest way ...

View RPi 2 & Pi Cam 2(B) Over WAN
The reason I purchased my Raspberry Pi 2 and Pi Camera 2 (B) was to view video from 400 miles away. I read http://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-webcam-server/ which was exactly what I was trying to accomplish. After more than 60 hours of reinstalling and re-trying the instructions, I could not get rid...
