can't start jackd in rt mode (as root!) (arch linux)

Hi, so, i'm currently setting up a little electronic music instrument using a Raspberry Pi 2. As this is a single-purpose system without security concerns, i'm setting it up as a root-only system Furthermore, i'm using Arch Linux ARM. So, when i try to start jackd, i always get the following error: ...

Re: Connection plug for official display ?

Ok, I've got you now. You need the Pi/sky writer hat in front, but still connected to the display. A display with an HDMI connection might have been a better choice, but what was posted should fix you up. There are long ribbon cables for the Pi camera which I believe are the same as the cable for t...

Re: Conection plug for official display ?

This isn't meant as a smart @ss comment. I just bough a another Pi. The one I have on my Pi display is dedicated to that setup. No messing with cables and the possibility of breaking something while taking it apart etc. About the only thing I swap on it is the SD card, and even then that's only occ...

Re: Conection plug for official display ?

Hmm ist this the one you're talking about:

https://www.tindie.com/products/freto/p ... extension/ ?

Seems neat ... does anyone have some experience with that one and the Display ?

EDIT: There's a comment on Petit Studios Blog, saying it's not working :(

Connection plug for official display ?

Hi, so, as much as i like the official display, i think it's stupid to have your Pi bolted to the display all the time (i like modularity ...). Connecting and Disconnecting the ribbon cable is quite a niusance. I surely could solder up some more convenient connection, but before i do that, i thought...

Re: Arch-Linux 7" Official Raspberry Pi Touchscreen

I've been using it with arch linux on my Pi 2.

It works out of the box, except multitouch. I don't bother, as i hardly fire up an xserver anyway.

Re: Making Wolfson Audio Card run with a recent kernel (Pi2)

Yes, definitively ! This guide which i dug out of the element14 forums is also quite helpful with, esp. as it focuses on the 4.1.y branch. https://stmllr.net/blog/cirrus-logic-audio-card-on-raspberry-pi2-with-debian-jessie/index.html It's also possible to apply Archlinux-Specific patches and Linux R...

Making Wolfson Audio Card run with a recent kernel (Pi2) ?

Hi everybody, can anybody tell me if there's a chance that the drivers for the Wolfson Audio Card might be ported to the latest Kernel ? The current kernel that supports the Card is fairly outdated, and doesn't as far as i've heard, support the official display (which i want to use). I've tried to f...

Re: 7" Display combined w/ Wolfson Audio - possible ?

The only thing that's different now is that the little square (denoting activity ?) on the upper right corner of the screen is missing ... That little rainbow square means your power supply isn't good enough. It's not "a little activity square". Since power demands are variable depending on how muc...

Re: 7" Display combined w/ Wolfson Audio - possible ?

?? The display doesn't require any gpios unless using it old rev B, and you say you're on a Pi2. I2c-0 is routed up the flex to the display. All 40 pins on the main gpio header are available for your use to the audio card. Getting a working kernel is another matter. Hmm not really, when i don't con...

Re: 7" Display combined w/ Wolfson Audio - possible ?

The bigger problem is that the Wolfson kernel won't have the official display code built in to it. They don't keep up with all of the kernel development. My model B with the old Wolfson card is running with a kernel built in April 2015. The support for the Wolfson/Cirrus cards isn't just patchy, it...

7" Display combined w/ Wolfson Audio - possible ?

Hi everybody,

would it be possible to use the Wolfson Audio Card and the official Display in combination ?

I've tried, but it seems as if the necessary GPIO pins are not routed through the Audio card ...
