Re: OpenWRT for Raspberry Pi

Can someone comment on the performance and usability when using openwrt? In particular I would like to know:
- is it hard float version?
- are there pre-compiled packages?
- anyone tried xbmc on openwrt?
- anything else?

Re: DirectFB on Raspberry Pi

Maribu, can you confirm that DirectFB examples work on your version? in particular I am interested in df_andi In the past I was successful to get this running with 50% cpu usage @ 60fps when using EGL however something was not right with the background - it was missing. If you could fix this (so df_...

Re: DirectFB on Raspberry Pi

Maribu, I just gave it a try and it does not look like EGL acceleration is working...

What you have is rendering over linux fbdev and not EGL...

If you add to your .directfbrc:
system=egl

and try run something you will see what I mean

Re: DirectFB on Raspberry Pi

Maribu, great work!! I spent on this very long time as well... but it looks like I missed the right directfbrc configuration!

Have you tried compiling ilixi or some demos?

I will give it a try later on today.

Thanks again and keep it up!

Re: OpenWRT for Raspberry Pi

Guys, it looks like this has already been done. From what I found DirectFB team is looking into getting openwrt on raspberry pi. Look into their GIT repo and you will find openwrt patches for rpi: http://git.directfb.org/?p=openwrt/kleistpark.git;a=summary http://git.directfb.org/?p=openwrt/packages...

Re: Wheezy: Problem with Bluetooth

The root cause is in regression bug in 3.1.x and 3.2.x kernels..
Kernel 3.3 is known to resolve the issue.

https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/66

Anyone tried kernel 3.3?

building qt5 on the board itself

Hi, I'm trying to build qt5 on the board itself as described in: http://qt-project.org/wiki/RaspberryPi So far I've got all the sources HF patched but the configure process for qtbase fails. Any advice on this? [email protected] ~/qt5/qtbase $ ./configure -opengl es2 -opensource -confirm-license -optim...

i gave up on it after a couple of hours.... it spat its dummy out over the xml parser and don’t really think its worth the effort to fix it... i think it's quite clear that the RPi is of no use for compiling code on,at least nothing of any significant size.... i know by using the -j switch on the "...

Remember to be on 224MB ram, otherwise it might not compile ;)

Right, so OpenGLES toolkits/libraries that do not require X server?

Still libSDL seem to be a candidate, any others?

opengl toolkit/library for RPi

Hi, I tried to lookup some OpenGL toolkits to simplify some development (i.e. bitmap loading & keyboard/mouse handler). It looks like there are plenty of them but they all require X server (i.e. FreeGLUT) Anyone could recommend any toolkit that could be easily used on RPi without the need for X serv...

What about VGA->DVI-A cable? Most monitors/displays that accept DVI input are actually DVI-I type so this mean they can accept DVI-A as well as DVI-D.

shaurz, it looks like you are on the right track. I combined your EGL initiation code (canvas-egl) into my glmark2 build and I got it running. Here are the results: ======================================================= glmark2 2012.03 ======================================================= OpenGL ...

Re: Compiling and running OpenGL ES programs

shaurz, do you work still on X11 version or a direct FB (framebuffer but not facebook ;) ) version? I got my FB version of glmark2 pretty much complete. It configures, compiles and runs fine without any additional LD loaders on archlinux. Also the absolute minimum in terms of dependencies is require...

Re: Compiling and running OpenGL ES programs

This should not be too difficult... Neither (I think) you need any X11 drivers/knowledge. I'm on a 'similar' boat to you trying to get this working. Looking at the sources the canvas*.cpp files must be ported to RPi; or preferably - a RPi version of them to be written. Meantime, I created a patch to...
