Re: TFT display with Raspberry Pi

According to your board schematic, SIFS0 & SIFS1 are connected to +3.3v From the RA8875 data sheet section 4-2, that sets it up as I2C interface. That checks with the board itself, both pins connect to a small SMD component that looks like a capacitor and, when powered, I measured 2.5v on them. I'm...

Re: TFT display with Raspberry Pi

You first need to get a schematic for you board to see what pins go where from the RA8875. Not knowing for sure what mode its in or how to change it will just be a crap shoot. Waveshare appears to have removed the link to the zip file with all the PDFs I downloaded last week. That file has a schema...

Re: TFT display with Raspberry Pi

Ah.... ok i am up to speed now with what you want to do. Here is the deal, there are several pins on the RA8875 that tell it how you want to interface to it. Parallel, SPI or I2C. If the pins are set for say parallel, you can talk to it via SPI or I2c all day long and it wont respond. So what you n...

I'm confused, the last 5 pins shown are these. Pin -- Description 30 T_IN Capacitive touch screen interrupt 31 SDA Capacitive touch screen I2C data 32 SCL Capacitive touch screen I2C clock 33 3V3 Power positive 34 GND Ground Yet you listed something else... I see. You are reading the 34-pin header,...

On Waveshare site:

The chipset datasheet is pretty outdated, though. A newer version can be found at Adafruit's:

Re: TFT display with Raspberry Pi

SPI is normally labelled SCLK, MISO, MOSI, CS/SS I2C is normally labelled SDA, SCL If we assume SDO is MISO and SDI is MOSI you should be able to wire that to pin#19 MOSI, pin#21 MISO, pin#23 SCLK and either pin#24 SPI CS0 or pin#26 SPI CS1. First test if it doesn't work is to swap pin#19 with pin#...

Re: TFT display with Raspberry Pi

Hi, I've seen somebody talking about RA8875 & SPI, so here's hoping to have landed on the right topic to ask for some help. :) I've bought the Waveshare 7" display module with capacitive touchscren (model C) from their seller at Aliexpress. It sports the RA8875 and a Goodix GT811 for the 5-point cap...

Re: Raspberry Pi + Brasil

Re: PiPower Board

I spent the past two hours figuring out how to build my father a MAME cabinet for his birthday and this might just be it. You see, the end user just won't push a recessed button and keep staring at the screen while the system shuts down itself. Just pushing and leaving, though, is something I can ge...

O meu chegou, finalmente.

Re: RPi router board?

Plug in another USB NIC ? The current NIC is still a USB device. There's no point giving it gigabit ethernet and wireless as any addons will be USB based, and will add to the cost. May as well leave the choice up to the user if they want WiFi or another Ethernet NIC and let them buy a USB. Sure. Bu...

RPi router board?

Last morning I stumbled upon some tweet comparing commercial router costs and performance with the RPi. Well, it sure does make sense. Before posting this, I did a quick search on the forum and found no one talking about a hardware solution, topics about routers are basically about converting the RP...

I understand the notification while browsing the forum from a mobile device nags some people, but the benefits of using a app that reduces data traffic and brings to hand the same controls you have on the big devices are greater than the in...

Re: Where and How can I get a Raspberry Pi? in Brazil

Can you tell us something about this "permission"? I think he means the code. Since there's a line of buyers, distributors are issuing codes to those who subscribed to buy a RPi, currently limited to one per person. When your turn comes, they send you a code that will be asked for during purchase, ...

Re: Where and How can I get a Raspberry Pi? in Brazil

Our problem is darn simple: most, if not all, electronic components distributors operating in Brazil are multinational companies that do not take our market seriously. That or they think we are still living in tents and giving away Pau Brasil in exchange of mirrors and necklaces. See, there is Farne...
