Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

Here is one link that I think is a good source of information http://ozzmaker.com/how-to-control-the-gpio-on-a-raspberry-pi-with-an-ir-remote/ You are correct about the clock but from what you imply is that when you shutdown the TV you are thinking to also shutdown the Pi? To use the crontab the Pi...

Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

If the TV is turned off at night with a mechanical timer then you know the current status. The crontab is a simple scheduler that you can set a specific minute, hour, day, week, year to do something. So program crontab to at a certain time of the day (days) to run a script that will transmit the ir...

Re: IR Blaster schedule on/off times

Yes. The Pi could do this pretty easily using IR diode, and a buffer circuit to drive the diode. LIRC is a common library to use to handle the sending. Most other microcontrollers can do it as well. One thing to bear in mind is that remote control on/off codes tend to be toggles; push once to turn ...

IR Blaster schedule on/off times

I am a beginner with Raspberry pi, but I know that you can set them up to use IR receivers and IR blasters for various projects, could someone a little more skilled than me in raspberry pi/SBC's (which is probably the vast majority of people on here) help me out with a project idea? here is the scen...

2 sources of data/information 1 screen

What I want to do, is be able to have a pi, probably a pi zero W (for space saving reasons) be able to display an embeded html object on one part of the screen, and the other half be able to update at a user set interval, but pull data from a different location. I am thinking HTML with frames, and t...

Re: PSU w/multiple 12v & 5v outlets for Pi and Peripherals.

Nice thing about working with computer wiring is the stuff is standardized. and color coded. Except when companies like Dell decide to buck the standard, use the same connectors as the standard but wire things differently than expected. If you have a Dell PSU or PC then take particular care, and it...

Re: PSU w/multiple 12v & 5v outlets for Pi and Peripherals.

I'm looking for a PSU that has multiple outlets for 12v and 5v devices. Nice thing about working with computer wiring is the stuff is standardized. and color coded....I would still test with a multi meter just to make sure everything is within tolerances, but all your yellow wires for example are g...

Re: Help with making a Hiking GPS tracker

I'm a relative newbie when it comes to the raspberry pi stuff, but I have seen pages where people have used cellular "hats" with their Pi's to give it a data connection. I suppose if you were to get a battery bank, like you would charge your phone with, you could power the raspberry pi, GPS, and cel...

Re: Need help using DVD player as screen

Just as pcmanbob has said... If you wanted to use the screen on its own you would need to find a driver board specifically made for or that is compatible with the screen that has HDMI or AV input. I've seen people talk about finding driver boards on ebay, try doing a search of something like "Model ...

Re: Rdp gateway in raspberry pi

I am a newbie with the raspberry pi, so in regards to doing anything there, I don't know that I can be of much help, but I can tell you a bit on the networking side. you could set up a VPN like what was suggested, this would have the effect as if you were in your home on your network, then you would...
