Re: Install .deb packages from x86-64 Debian Stretch Live DVD?

No, you can't use x86-64 packages on the armhf architecture of the Pi. They are compiled differently. You need to either download the .debs from the raspbian repository, or compile all the code yourself from the source (which isn't on the DVD). There are ways of finding out which files you need to d...

Re: How to execute program on server without breaking security issues ?

I was showing examples of how to change the code. You need to add the -g to the other gpio line that turns the LED off as well as the other two.

Re: REAL MySQL instead of MariaDB

Not sure which Pi you are using or what version of raspbian you have. I have a Pi 3 with the latest raspbian and MySQL is available, it;s about 150-200mb from what it looks like for me. Both client and server. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.5 mysql-clie...

Re: Is my SD card now totally wrecked?

The partitions would be /dev/sdb1 (vfat) and /dev/sdb2 (etx4), not the whole card /dev/sdb.

Does fdisk -l /dev/sdb show the correct partition details?

There's a "not booting" sticky post near the top of the Troubleshooting forum. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=58151 It has a helpful section on the Pi Zero.

20 '''GPIO''' which are not available, of course on the Pi Really? Last time I looked there were 26 GPIO available on the 40 pin header. They will need configuring as input/output of course. Some may have other default functions, but unless you are using them for something else I don't see a proble...

Re: 45 pin lvds to HDMI

The listing gives the display driver chip types, which is handy. It seems to support 24bit RGB (888), but should be usable in 666 mode. A pinout of the display connector would be useful. Operating voltage levels are 2.7 to 3.6v, which is good. Might not need any buffering.

Re: How to execute program on server without breaking security issues ?

As you have already changed your current directory to /var/www/html, you don't need to put the full path. pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cd /var/www/html pi@raspberrypi:/var/www/html $ sudo chmod 640 index.php However, setting 640 permissions won't give the pi user permissions to edit the file. You need to chan...

So how do you reformat a card with more than one partition for example?
I think the missing text here is " under Windows". It's pretty easy under Linux and not hard on a Mac. Also it can be done on some versions of Windows with a bit of jiggery pokery. (Disk manager?)

Re: How to execute program on server without breaking security issues ?

Ok, so there's still an issue with the Raspbian mirror, but we can ignore that for now. The important thing is you now have wiringpi installed and the gpio command should work. I've spotted a few things in your code system ("gpio mode 0 out"); system ("gpio write 18 1"); You're setting GPIO 0 to out...

Right, firstly it looks like there may be a problem with the Raspbian repository Err:3 http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian stretch/main armhf Packages Hash Sum mismatch That's not good, but it may be a temporary issue due to the mirror updating the file at the moment you are trying to downlo...

Sorry, those commands need sudo in front to give them root access.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install wiringpi

Re: How to execute program on server without breaking security issues ?

Are you running Raspbian?
Lite or Desktop?

It looks like the gpio command (part of the wiringPi package) isn't installed.

Try installing it

Code: Select all

apt-get update
apt-get -y install wiringpi
and see if that makes a difference.

Re: How to execute program on server without breaking security issues ?

Your "error.log" file only contain information about each time the apache server starts. If you want to see IF your PHP program has been run, take a look at "access.log". What is index.php supposed to do ? What do you see when you open that page in a browser ? WRONG! The error log will log ANY fail...

Re: Best command to shut Rpi down

Has the behaviour of "halt" reverted back to what it used to be? I recall in older versions of Debian it used to do a full poweroff, but they (Debian maintainers) realised that wasn't what it was supposed to do. So they fixed it in Jessie (IIRC). The difference was more obvious on a PC where "halt" ...
