Re: systemd-timesyncd DNS lookup fails if DHCP slow

Well, a long time ago, I wasted pretty much of my lifetime in figuring out, I was facing a severe NTPD bug. The last thing I dared to think of, was a bug in the NTP implementation. At that time, there was a 4h window in the gpsd driver defined for jumping (instantly stepping ntp) rather than slewing...

Re: Operation Voltage

Supplement: A voltage drop from about 0.6 Volt @ 0.85A as Moahrs reports, points to either very thin cables or a voltage regulator, far too weak for supplying everything. Even if two separate recommended regulators will get in charge, there is a chance, things will not work as expected, since the mo...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 External Wifi Antenna

Where did you find the spec saying Pi4B has 31dBm transmit power? However, By modifying any radio device its EU or FCC approval will most likely loose validity. When buying a radio with an antenna connector, you are allowed to change the antenna in effect and will not loose approval. With a directio...

Re: Options for 5GHz settings

Well, let me put it that way. In order to get meaningful results for your strength tests, you have to have a deep understanding of what which radio standard does do. In case, you do know, what IEEE 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, ax is / what OFDM is / what MIMO is / what frequency hopping, multiple path pro...

Dear Blondie 22, maybe it is a good idea to provide more info. I guess, you soon will get answers. What Pi with what OS are you using? Where did you search for infomation not found? Did you already try to manage network settings? If so, did you try to edit system files or did you try via GUI? Networ...

Re: Access Point & Pihole on the same unit

Well, Pihole basically is a DNS Server, able to act as a DHCP server as well. Everything else needed is an ethernet-WLAN bridge. I am pretty sure, even a Pi2 will do the job. On the downside a Pi typically will not achieve datarates of modern wlan routers with MIMO and beamforming. I am afraid, your...

Re: Raspberry pi 4 cluster

... Certainly USB networking is potentially faster than Ethernet, as long as you use USB3 on the Pi4B. However, you need some hardware in between to allow to USB hosts to talk to each other (AFAIK). Using an Ethernet cable for two Pis needs just that -- one cable. You have to give both of them stat...

Re: How can I shrink Raspbian main partition by maximum before backup?

You are asking for shrinking partitions, then backup. Why not going the other way round, since any repartitioning draws some risk?
Have a look at rpi-clone for cloning and fitting partitions without.
For shrinking even more, give pishrink a try.

And leave your source partition unaltered..

Re: Pi Zero W unreachable over network after a few hours

Check your router's config. With all your Pis using static IP addresses, this might conflict with your router's setting. Configure the IP of your Pi on the router - additionally to the Pis config. Possibly resetting your router has deleted such config. Further, restrict the DHCP address range of you...

Adding to epoch1970s suggestion.
There is a chance of interference with other 5GHz radios. Do you operate any wireless videolink?
What routers are incolved?
Try to set 802.11a only (no n, no ac, no ax) in your router's config and see what happens.

There is a underscan / overscan issue, steming from analogue video compatibility history. This legacy stuff drops in frequently.

I think you're missing an important point. The devices (OP's SD card/my USB flash drive) are only failing when used in a Raspberry Pi. The devices are NOT failing when used in a PC....The failure mode seems clearly related to some very subtle difference in the way a Raspberry Pi accesses the device...

Since the link says "and charging from the USB ports, providing up to 10 W of charging power for each port." there would be little room fpr RPi4s. They require upt to 3 Amps, equalling 15Watts. So 60 Watts average may be sufficient juice, maybe not, 10 Watt per port are definitely not. Consider buyi...

Did you take notice you have to configure an i2s Audio interface, both hardware and software wise? The CSI port is video only. The Audio comes with an extra connector on the HDMI CSI board. To be connected to the 40 Pin GPIO header.
