Every day. Mostly because it's powered from the USB port on my TV.

Re: RPi not suitable as a media center

You're missing that you are, apparently, willing to spend thousands on all your media centre equipment yet want to only pay £30 for the actual player and expect it to be the best player in the market and do literally everything.

It's not perfect but my Pi is connected to the USB port on my TV to power it.

I think you have got the gist of it completely wrong but, as always, people are welcome to believe whatever they want.

Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc vs Xbian

That wouldn't really work as OpenElec and Raspbmc use completely different methods of running XBMC and the entire OS itself. I've tried both OpenElec and Raspbmc and both seemed pretty even two or three months ago! I haven't tried OpenElec since as, since Raspbmc was working nicely, no need to rock ...

Re: RaspBMC + Video file failures

It doesn't sound like you're running Raspbmc, it sounds like you're running Raspian with XBMC installed. The two are entirely seperate.

No issues here! Only crash I've had so far is when I overclocked my Pi too much.

LIRC

Has anyone got LIRC working?

I get the feeling I may need to re-compile the kernel to include it but I'm not 100% sure.

Re: Raspbmc Distribution now in Beta

Got this up and running! Just need to configure LIRC and it's pretty much perfect!

The addons seems a lot faster loading than on OpenElec which I'm happy about.

Re: OpenELEC meets Raspberry Pi - part 1 (XBMC)

I've been testing Raspbmc and it seems to quicker in the GUI than OpenElec thus far.

Some movies I've had issues with stuttering on (1080p, 5.1 movies) work smoothly too.
