How do I add iPlayer? I can download http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-iplayerv2/ the file manager in XBMC doesn't give me access to $HOME/.xbmc/addons, nor can I access the partition on a PC place the zip file in the downloads folder on the sd then goto add on on the pi and select add on from zip file...

Sorry to be a noob, but what do I need to do with these un tarred files? I've previously used the img files and burnt them to SD using Win32DiskImager. I've only got the Win7 machine, so can't read the previous version of OpenELEC which I've got on the SD card, and at the moment the Pi is networkle...

well i gave up on the xbox remote for so i purchased a windows remote from maplin for 18 quid! but i will keep asking the questons and having a look to get it going because it is a cheap alternative and so easy to come by. have we come to any conclusion on the build releases yet? i.e with build logs...

just for the record r10939 that i built is working fine here.

right i modded the files need for lirc and they are showing up on the pi but still the remote is not working!!!

might be a good idea if we could have a sub forum specifically for the openelec/xbmc so all the post end up in there and not clutter the main forum and also people would find easer

good idea, we need to keep all the builds together so people are confused with all the builds people are doing. i will take a butchers at the wiki when i get home and see if i can put some stuff together.

i will keep working on it and its good sign that he driver for this is within the kernel- i can work with that.

you need to extract the image onto the card not put the actual image on the card for windows the program is called Win32DiskImager not sure what the osx version would be

right i built a new linux system today running unbuntu so i am trying to compile this. hopefully i will get somewhere now and maybe i can edit the lirc file. on a side note why cant i edit it as it is?

to be honest i have always used samba shares for all my media and never once had a problem with the lan speed.

like i said i have 6tb NAS servinng all 4 of the revo's and 1 x smart tv and iphones/ipad and it work fantastic no buffering issues at all and its using samba shares

no problems here with "stuttering" the only problem i had when i tried to play saving private ryan which is a 1080p which is a M2TS  with a bit rate of around 36,000 but everything else plays fine and dandy

i have it compiling on another machine running Debian - it will be done when its done i suppose, just need to get into it so i can edit the lirc and test it
