Re: How hard would it be to modify existing project?

I have had some experience with a previous project that involves a 2x16 LCD display. Only difference was that that project required that display. What I would like to know is if I can take the code of that Next Bus program but modify it to display on a 4x16 display without scrolling as suggested in ...

How hard would it be to modify existing project?

Hello everyone, Once a Raspberry Pi Zero becomes readily available in my area, I would like to sort of replicate this project. https://learn.adafruit.com/nextbus-transit-clock-for-raspberry-pi/overview Instead of using the required LED display used in this project, I would instead like to use ether ...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

Sorry for the delay in reply. I have done all that is instructed, I no longer get a Syntax error. Now I get another message. There's an error in your program: unexpected indent # Main loop if GPIO.input(16) == False: os.system("sudo mpc -q volume +20") sleep(1) if GPIO.input(19) == False: os.system(...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

If reading button you don't want gpio.out, they must be gpio.in. You could cause the GPIO circuit to fail in you short it to earth when set as an output! If they open on pressing then test for true rather than false, or visa versa. Try changing the read switches section to... got_prev = True got_ne...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

The problem appears to be you aren't using the design as shown in the link. You could change the wiring on the existing switches so instead of one side going to gnd connect them to 3.3v. Then you either need to add the resistors, anything between 1k and 10k should do, to gnd or modify the software ...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

Ok it turns out I was completely wrong with describing my problem. It turns out that all my buttons are OPEN when unpressed. I came to this theory when I found out pushing both buttons down closed the circuit allowing me the ability to control the radio program. I found out this wrong now as I bough...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

Well, Here is what I don't understand. If the GPIO is set as IN, Would it that mean I need to set the other half of the circuit to positive? Right now it has to go to ground for the circuit to work.

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

When I set "Initialize" "Debounce switches and look for two-button combo" back to False and True, the program still acts crazy unless I close the switch circuits by pressing down on the buttons. I can control it in "reverse" by releasing a button momentarily to control program functions. That is why...

Re: Add code to internet radio program?

Thank you for the quick responce. I should point out that I did a minor change to the Radio program because of the tactile buttons I am using for this project. It turns out that the tactile buttons I am using appears to be closed circuit buttons when not pressed. When pressing the button, the circui...

Add code to internet radio program?

It appears however that both tutorials did not include volume control via buttons on the GPIO. I found some code I think I wou...

Getting Adafruit-Retrogame drivers to work

I am trying to get VLC player to work with four external buttons to control track and volume control. I am trying to replicate the hot keys to do those functions with these drivers that uses the GPIO pins to replicate key presses. I followed the instructions word for word https://learn.adafruit.com/...

Adding "album art" for radio streams on VLC?

I created a playlist of radio station streams onto VLC player that I want to use on my Raspberry Pi. I want to add station logos to each station on the playlist and I used the instructions on manually adding album art to mp3's. It seems to not work for live audio streams. Is there a way to do it or ...

Fustrated with getting USB sound.

Seriously! When I got this Raspberry Pi a month ago to play around with, I had no idea how much of a pain in the ass it would be to get anything to work. I knew it would involve dealing with Linux command lines to get some things to work, but whats the point of entering command lines when the inform...
