Re: Berryboot not working on Pi 3...

So I copied the latest image contents after extracting the zip file of berryboot onto a formatted Fat32 SD card and when I put it in my Pi 3; nothing shows. No rainbow screen, nothing. The card works when I put back on Noobs, so it's not the Pi or the card. Can anyone help me out with this? Got it ...

Ubuntu Mate & OpenELEC dual boot possible?

Is this possible? I wish for just 1GB of my 64GB SD a card to be dedicated to OpenElec, and the rest to Ubuntu mate. Is there any dual boot tools that would allow me to do this? Ie: compatible with both of those OSs as well as control the partition size?

Is there any pre made images of these two OSs?

What about Ubuntu Mate? Wish to overclock the card reader on it.

Re: SD Card Benchmarks

Been testing a variety of cards and my best card so far is a Samsung Pro 32GB card. Results from Pi2 and PI B+ are posted below. Pi2 consistently has better results than the B+ for every card tested. Card was on sale for $19 us when I bought it. http://www.microcenter.com/product/432594/32GB_Class_...

I got a Kingston, which crapped out and I had to ditch.
Following advice from this forum I got EVO+ 32Gb cards, worked fine, work fine-erer overclocked. :P
Did you notice a great perfromance increase with your upgrade to the Evo?

Re: Is it safe to overclock the SD reader on Pi3?

Buy one of each and report your results? While money isn't that much of an issue between the two; can't justify getting both with my use case requiring only one card and I already have enough backup cards :/ You're using an Evo+ correct? With the overclock to 100Mhz; what's the the responsiveness l...

Re: Is it safe to overclock the SD reader on Pi3?

I'm noticing the Samsung Pro outperforms the Wvo + by a massive margin on a desktop computer with a USB 3 card reader; but in that one benchmark posted above tested in Raspbian: the Evo+ wins.

What should I go buy?

It won't case any damage to the actual Pi itself either correct? Looking into upgrading my SD card to either a Samsung Evo + or a Samsung Evo Pro. It won't damage the Pi or affect the Pi's warranty. One last question, I'm using my Pi with a 5V 2.5A power supply, the official one from the Pi hut, wo...

Re: Is it safe to overclock the SD reader on Pi3?

On one hand I have to agree with you that the Pro is faster, and as I said more expensive. That may or may not be an issue. On the other hand I agree with broe23's assertion that shifting the OS to an SSD will give better results, again cost may or may not be an issue. On my third hand/tentacle, th...

Re: What will be the fastest SD card?...

Why not just use the SD as the Bootloader and a SSD for handling the OS? SD cards do not have a long life span. Also the services that Debian uses, does not work properly when just using the SD Card. I run a 1TB Transcend on my PI 3. It runs off of a Orica Powered USB hub with no issues. 64GB SSD's...

Re: Is it safe to overclock the SD reader on Pi3?

Another vote for the EVO+ here. (2 cards overclocked) Pro seems overpriced. The price of them both is £23 for the Pro; and £16 for the Evo. So you'd say that's not worth the increase in price? I also have my eye on a U 3 Class 10 SANDISK Extreme. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDHC-F...
