Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Ohhhhh! Sometimes I just don't see the obvious, simple answer, and instead try to make things more complicated! heh, thanks Robert, I'll have a play with setting that up. So, I'm going to simplify my set up so that h264 videos are initially stored in a separate folder on the SD card and then use bo...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi Robert, Would it be possible to support browsing folder structures on the "Download Images and Videos" page by any chance please? At the moment I use a custom script to put .mp4 files into days/months/years within the media folder. e.g. /var/www/media/2017 /var/www/media/2017/Oct /var/www/media/...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Just tried on a fresh install of Stretch 4.9.41-v7+ full and I get pretty much the same thing: How do I use php7? Thanks for your help When you run the install.sh there is an option called phpversion. Set that to 7 (should be by default). If you don't see that option then you have an older version ...

Hi All, At the request of some colleagues new to RPI Cam and the Pi in general, I created a newbie guide to using this excellent software. Please review and let me know if any changes or updates need to be made. Thanks! How to Make a £59 Fully Featured Raspberry Pi Home Security Camera – Newbie Guid...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Thanks for the info. It seemed to work initially, but now I am back to it not working again. All I get are "Error: Could not disable video port" entries in the log. Also, the few recordings that did work were owned by nobody:nogroup /var/www/media. Why did that happen? See if the following helps - ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I've narrowed down my problems to this: mounting an nfs share to store media files. When I use the default /var/www/media on the SD card, no issues. When I try to mount an nfs share to /var/www/media - which is successful - I get error messages like Error: Could not open/create video-file or Error:...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

For the macro do you mean when the whole time-lapse is terminated or after each image. I thought the end-image was called for each image whether time lapse or not. The macro could normally tell which was which from the naming and act accordingly. Ahh yes I see, I thought that didn't work because it...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

As an aside I do something similar to support a doorbell notification operation. When my doorbell is pushed I get a IFTTT phone notification plus web access command is made to the RPi camera software camera by the door to grab the latest image. It keeps the last 4 images on the same webserver and a...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hmm, the downside with this alternative method is that I loose the thumbnail images. When you have time Robert, could you look into my original request above please? Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

OK. I'll see what can be done. It is correct that currently the boxing path is only used when boxing is active. Also thumbnails only get created when the video path is within the same media folder as the thumbnails. The reason for this is that it allows any folder structure in the video_path to be ...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi Can anyone confirm if there's a way to control the camera from a python script. Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

The downside with .htaccess and iPhones or iPads is that you have to enter the user/pass every time you try to watch each video. It's very frustrating but I can't see any other workaround as they don't store the credentials. If anyone has found a solution to this I would be very eager to hear more!...
