Re: Booting from USB error

Setting a partitition as bootable (MBR) is a BIOS thing, the RPi doesn't have a BIOS, so it's 100% irrelevant. You MUST layout the partitions as documented here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/bootmodes/msd.md the GPU ROM can only boot from the first primary FAT16/FA...

Booting from USB error

Hi, After following the "boot RPi3 from USB" I cannot boot from USB if /boot partition is not /dev/sda1 . In my case I had 2 primary partitions: Partition 1 (ext4) / /dev/sda1 Partition 2 (luks) /home /dev/sda2 I splitted partition 1 in two primary partitions: /boot and / . So now I have: Partition ...

Re: Boot from USB - questions

Thanks, I can see that I need to install "next" linux kernel branch for Raspberry so my own kernel would not work, wouldn't?

Boot from USB - questions

Hi, I own a RPi3 with Raspbian installed in a usb pendrive, the microsd card makes RPi3 launch from the usb. I'm thinking about booting directly from USB to disconnect the microsd and use for another RPi (I own a RPi3, RPi2 and 2 RPiZero), I'm using a custom kernel (last 4.5 with some patches). rasp...

Re: Load kernel modules error

I think it might be a problem in kernel + modules.
Finally I made a sd clone following the next link and it worked: viewtopic.php?p=915631#p915631

Load kernel modules error

Hi, I'm suffering a very weird thing. I have 2 Raspberry Pi Zero and I'm trying to make a copy of one microsd to the second microsd. I have tried reducing data of the microsd, cloning and expanding filesystems (Boot and / both in ext4) and also I tried backing up data with rsync and cp. In all the w...

Re: Kodi and VC error | Black Screen

Thanksss!!!!! I cannot understand why I didn't realize.
gpu_mem=192 in /boot/config.txt and a firmware update fixed my problem.

[Solved] Kodi and VC error | Black Screen

Hi, I have a playback error with VC using Raspbian and Kodi 16.0 (also in 15.2). When I try to play IPTV and some MKV videos, Kodi only shows a black screen and logs the following errors: mmal: mmal_vc_port_enable: failed to enable port vc.ril.video_decode:in:0(MVC ): ENOMEM mmal: mmal_port_enable: ...

Re: Systemctl does not init some service at boot

Maybe the problem is that network is not started before those service are started. But I don't have NetworkManager-wait-online.service or networkmanager-wait-online.service in Raspbian Debian Jessie $ sudo systemctl enable NetworkManager-wait-online.service Failed to execute operation: No such file ...

Systemctl does not init some service at boot

Hi! Lately some of my systemd services stoped working at boot, they fail, but a systemctl restart works perfectly so I had to edit rc.local to restart them automatically. Services are bluetooth, tor and openvpn. Sometimes also mysql and related services are affected too. By instance, with openvpn I ...

Re: Autoreboot Watchdog Raspberry with 4.3.3 kernel or above

Update: I could fix it. https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1285#issuecomment-182264729 As I wrote before bcm2708_wdog is not a module since 4.3.2 linux kernel so we need to add to the "config.txt" in the NOOBS/BERRYBOOT boot partition: dtparam=watchdog=o It creates a /dev/watchdog (in my ca...

[Solved] Autoreboot Watchdog with 4.3.3 kernel or above

Hi, Since 4.3.2 linux kernel release, bcm2708_wdog is not compiled any longer. If you add "CONFIG_BCM2708_WDOG=m" to the .config file, it neither compiles it. So, the only way is to add "dtparam=watchdog=on" to the "config.txt" file which creates a /dev/watchdog. It's ok for a software watchdog like...

Re: Predictable SSH host keys

I have an error:
losetup: 2015-11-21-raspbian-jessie.img: failed to set up loop device: Cannot find file

One more question, do I need to create SSH keys again once I finish the commands?
