You can use lots of devices on 1-wire, the DS1820 sensor is probably the easiest though, as the sensor itself ‘talks’ the 1-wire protocol. There is a DS2438 device, that while designed to be used a battery monitor will allow you to interface into different sensors. Your best bet is probably to look ...

Mount a Pi behind TV withoug using the VESA holes

Hi,

I have got a Pi model A, and i want to mount it behind a TV, but the tv is already mounted on a bracket on the wall, so the normal VESA holes are already being used.

Has anyone got any ideas how i can mount the pi behind the TV without using the VESA points?

Hi,

Simple question, i have put snmp onto my pi, i can query the device locally but when i try from another device on my network it times out.

I think the port might be blocked, but i'm not sure how to open the port

Hi, I'm creating a little add on board that will plug into the GPIO on the pi. I'm looking to be able to mount the board on top of the pi itself, but i'm struggling to find an extender i can plug into the pi then solder into my board. just found the prototyping bit on the seedstudio website now, not sure how i missed it before. It does seem very reasonable, might just be a bit of pot luck if you get them without an silly post office or inland revenue charges!

http://www.pcbpanel.co.uk looks promising, its a similar price to expresspcb.com but its uk based and the turn around time is quicker. Seeedstudio only seem to offer 100+ batches, that a bit more than i need at the moment!! I'll finish of my design this week and probably use pcbpanel.co.uk. Thanks f...

@tony at the moment i've just built a couple of temperature sensors, the idea being that they can be used over normal office flood wiring so that one pi unit can monitor a few different locations. Thanks for the info, i'll do some research and see what is the most competitive, i really would prefer to use a UK based operation but i doubt they will be the cheapest.

The board is a 1-wire interface for plugging sensors into an RJ45 jack

yes, use the 3v3 as your power line the resistor should be between the power line and the data line, then your ground. I'd take a picture of mine but its gonna be a bit hard to see it

I never noticed the PWD not being correct, ill enter that manually. I have complied the module on the pi it's self not on another machine. I think the issue is something to do with the headers i'm using and the kernel version on the pi, i think they might not be matching. I'll try and work it out ov...
