If you are planning on controlling your LEDs from some online cloud then I would suggest you to go with raspberry pi as its the best but if you just want to control them via remote RF or bluetooth then I think you should use Arduino, less complicated. :P

You are absolutely right.This circuit is just a demo to show guys about the working of this transistor. If you are working on some project then you have to design its proper circuit. Thanks for mentioning that. :)

It depends on your project. If project is something in which you wanna upload your data on some web server and wanna do cloud computing then you should go with Raspberry Pi and if its some stand alone system where you need to perform some tasks or algos then you should buy Arduino.
