I know i could buy that and use it easily but we have everything i need for this project between us then doing it this way would be cheaper and more of a challenge.

I've used the pi as a wifi repeater before, so im assuming it would potentially be the same project but adjusted for my needs?

So me and my mate work from the van and use BT with fon to get online. However living in the sticks getting an open wifi signal can sometimes be troublesome. so if i could use the raspberry pi attached to a power bank in the van connected to a long range wifi antenna, could i get the pi to automatic...

Yes that is correct i meant wlan1. Also yes you have done the opposite of what i have done Mine: Router - Ethernet - Pi - Wireless adapter - Wireless device. i understand that, thats what they will be indicated as but can i just change the dhcp.conf file from eth0 to wlan1 or wlan0 also changing the iptables to make them cummunicate? this is the guide i used: http://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-a-raspberry-pi-as-a-wifi-access-point/overview thanks again

I think I have got it working however the .conf file seems to have changed. which is the correct setting to view The camera on a browser?

For some reason I'm really struggling with this. I have updated, upgraded all software. I have tried using a standard webcam, a PS3 eyetoy and a PS2 eyetoy. I'm getting error cant find video on /dev/video0 I'm at my wits end! PLEASE HELP!! !!!!

I have used this plugin and watched many streams without any lag and in HD using Raspmc. Highly Recommended.

When i tried to edit the .conf files using leafpad im getting error permission denied. also with the eyetoy plugged in im also getting the same error /dev/video0

i have tried sudo apt-get update and upgrade but still nothing? any ideas??

I was wondering if it would be possible to use a LCD digital frame as a portable monitor for the RasPI?  i have disassembled the frame and found that the IC is Novatek NT88952APFG.  Do you think it would be possible or am I looking at an impossible project?
