Re: autorun on startup

All the commands (including those in rc.local) are executed one after another. If the process goes into background, the next one doesn't have to wait and can execute immediately. If it remains in the foreground, all other commands are not being executed as long as the process in the foreground keeps...

[SOLVED] alternative to vgClear

You could try changing the blend mode before drawing your totally transparent rectangle so that the destination alpha value is ignored (so it should replace it with the new 0 alpha) VGPaint black_with_full_alpha = vgCreatePaint(); VGPaint black_with_no_alpha = vgCreatePaint(); vgSetColor(black_with...

Re: alternative to vgClear

When you say you set the colour to all zeros do you include the alpha value in that Yes. The problem is that when I change the alpha channel to 1.0 then the region is just black, but I want it to be transparent as with vgClear . What do you mean by layers, do you have separate OpenVG windows? Yes, ...

Re: alternative to vgClear

Thanks for a descriptive answer :) The problem with using the clear colour is that I use the default of all zeros, so when I set the colour to all zeros nothing gets drawn (or a transparent rectangle on my already drawn rectangle). As for the blinking it's "part of the design" due to layer switching...

[SOLVED] alternative to vgClear

Hi everybody can anyone show an alternative to vgClear when it comes to removing drawn objects from the screen? vgClear is great as long as the drawn objects are not rotated about a certain point. As soon as I rotate something the clearing rectangle should also be rotated, but with vgClear that's no...

Re: Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?

Thanks for the tip on eglGetError() - it returned 0x3003: bad alloc. That was strange since in /boot/config.txt I had gpu_mem=384 I changed the value to 256 to make it a power of 2 but the result was the same - 0x3003. So when I called htop I got Mem 29/925, which states that 29Mb is used out of 925...

Re: Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?

Hi, thanks for the answers and sorry for the long wait, I have been out of town... @-rst-: I tried doubling everything, to make things easier and quicker I again altered the oglinit funcion from ajstarks' openvg library but trying to create a second surface fails: typedef struct { uint32_t screen_wi...

Re: OpenCV

From what I found it may be an API problem: https://wiki.libav.org/Migration/10 in the changed functionality section it is stated that CODEC_ID_* macros have been deprecated and are replaced by AV_CODEC_ID_*. Maybe this information will help you with installing openCV: https://www.raspberrypi.org/fo...

Re: Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?

Ok I finally got the time to sit down and play with OpenVG and EGL. I was able to draw over 500 objects so that's great. But there a major problem I can't find a (good) solution to: because everything is on one layer I can't delete an object without affecting others. If I have a rectangle and I draw...

Re: Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?

I was hoping it won't come to this but I'm afraid that it will be easier to do it in openGLES (surely not now since I have some of the stuff already developed but later when the library is finished and developed in openGLES). I still haven't had the time to sit down and read the github discussion th...

Re: Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?

Thanks for the quick answer (love your raspidmx by the way, took a lot of inspiration from your code :) ). It looks promising, from a quick pick I could see that they managed to get more than 64 elements, so I'll have to sit down to it with full focus

Dispmanx - limit of number of displayed elements?
