Re: Kernel 3.12 - bcm2708_sdhci 'probe failed'

Maybe this was the wrong place to post this sort of question? Anyway, the 3.12 kernel tree on GitHub has now been updated, and includes a fix for this problem. So, I now have the Pi running kernel 3.12: Fedora release 18 (Spherical Cow) Kernel 3.12.0-pi+ on an armv6l (ttyAMA0) ................ $ una...

Kernel 3.12 - bcm2708_sdhci 'probe failed'

Just downloaded the 'new' Pi 3.12 kernel from GitHub, and compiled/installed, and got the following at boot: [ OK ] Started udev Wait for Complete Device Initialization. [ OK ] Started Show Plymouth Boot Screen. [ OK ] Reached target Paths. [*** ] A start job is running for dev-mmcblk0p1.device .......

Re: Yum hangs - constantly..

I've tried many different delay times.. Sometimes leaving it for over an hour, to see if anything happened.. (and it was still 'hung'..) I did - twice - manage to get it to work after ctrl-c, but I found that this never worked over ssh, but only on a console/terminal session... For me, this - and th...

Yum hangs - constantly..

After waiting for all the 404s to end, and the repositories to (hopefully) become more reliable, I have hit another roadblock.. Yum hangs - every time - after '' --> Finished Dependency Resolution ''.. If I try ctrl/c a couple of times, the 'downloading' script continues, but then terminates before ...

Kernel 3.6.1-pi…

I now have the Raspberry Pi running on kernel 3.6.1-pi, recently downloaded from GitHub.. Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) Kernel 3.6.1-pi on an armv6l (ttyAMA0) …….. $ uname -a Linux rgpi 3.6.1-pi #4 Mon Oct 15 13:08:24 BST 2012 armv6l armv6l armv6l GNU/Linux FYI, the download link on GitHub was s...

Hub - No Solution Works..

I have now tried several different hubs, and am already using a known/good power supply (Nokia) and have also tried a so-called known/good hub (Logik..) and still get constant failures. I am running the very latest version of the kernel and firmware etc, from GitHub. The Pi won't boot if the (powere...

Re: Pi - Complete Hardware Failure..

Just FYI... I found what the problem was on that non-booting SD Card... Somehow, the kernel.img file had 'vanished', which resulted (of course) in the scenario mentioned.. I replaced this file from a known/good 3.1.10 backup, and everything works OK, now... Still worrying, that this can 'magically' ...

Re: Pi - Complete Hardware Failure..

@abishur, thanks for the fast response! I was actually trying your suggestion (but with the OpenELEC build, as that was the easiest/smallest to fit on my third - 2GB - SD Card..) And - it boots OK. So - it would appear that the SD Card had been zapped somehow? I put the (original, non-booting) card ...

Pi - Complete Hardware Failure..

I have had my Raspberry Pi for over a month now, installed /upgraded to Fedora 17, and tried the OpenELEC XBMC builds.. I have and just plugged in a (powered) USB hub, got some nasty-looking port errors, so unplugged the hub and tried to reboot the Pi.. Now, the Pi is dead. All I get is the single r...

Re: Fedora ARM on Raspberry Pi

After a lot of messy rpm/yum hacking, I now have Fedora 17 (from the standard Fedora ARM repository) running on my Pi..
