Read-only Jessie

Hello! I'm trying to make my SD card read-only to prevent it from damage in case of power failure. I found many guides which I tried to follow but I still get two errors during the boot process: Failed to start Load/Save Random Seed. and Failed to start Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown. This i...

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

Dear Raspberry Foundation! It hurts my heart you have to read all the complains and downright nonsense few people say here. I have no doubt that at the end you will look at the numbers of referrals, subscribers, orders, downloads, projects, pictures and whatnot and come to conclusion it is worth it....

Re: Meet Raspberry Pi Zero: the $5 computer

Thank you, that is one amazing news! Please, few questions: - What is the power consumption? Is it similar to A/A+? - As it presumably runs an overclocked A/A+ CPU, is it possible to overclock it even further? - I think I read somewhere that several tens thousands were already produced, which I imag...

Ultrasonic Range Sensor: HC-SR04 vs SNS-US020

Hello! I would like to try to measure distance and I found a great tutorial [1] on how to go about it. However, it describes the process using the HC-SR04 sensor and I can get my hands on the SNS-US020 [2] variety. Please, does anyone know whether I can still proceed with the code and the schematic ...

Re: Seek and pause in hello_video

I apologize but I'm a bit confused now: you said that omxplayer can seek but I would need to use special container format which supports those "index points". Ok. But in addition to omxplayer I would also need ffmpeg et al.? I thought that omxplayer can handle it by itself..? What I then thought you...

Re: Seek and pause in hello_video

What is an "index point"? Does it have something to do with "chapters" [1] so I could jump back and forth and then play?

Seek and pause in hello_video

Hello! Please, I have two questions about playing accelerated video on RPi. I was thinking that the simplest way would be to modify the player included in "hello_video" [1]. Btw., my video is without sound. 1. Is it possible to "seek" (i.e. to jump or skip) to certain time/frame in the video? Say I ...
