Re: raspberry-droid media center casemod

Yes, AWESOME case! I wish somebody would make something like this that could be bought. I am needing a case which has a spot for a hard drive and USB hub in it. Nothing like that I'm aware of, but damn I wish I had the skills to make something like this amazing case, great work!

Re: How effective is the RPi at being a Media Centre

It's very effective. I have one on each of my kid's TV's so they can watch movies or tv shows from the media server in the house and I have one in my RV on the back bedroom TV. The front TV in the RV is using a Windows 8 system with XBMC and has a 12TB array which I sync to the media server in the h...

Re: Cyntech Black Case Video Review

Great photos. I have to admit, after a few days with two of these cases, I'm very happy with them. Fit's great, good solid construction, well thought out design and LIGHT PIPES! :o

Ordered one the day before you posted this video. Just got it today and I have to say I love it! Way better the other three cases I had... of course one of them was homemade so it sucked... bad.

Re: OpenELEC vs Raspbmc vs Xbian

I've tried all three, had one on each of my 3 SD cards at one time and was going back and forth for testing. Ultimately I too have decided on Xbian for the reasons already stated. The other two are also good and each one has it's merits. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the three, I...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Have you tried the latest build yet? He said he was going to look at the new tree for the next release, which was before the last release. I just assumed he got it in there. I haven't been using xbian lately, my kid has swiped my Pi to do some other projects on so I admittedly don't know if this is ...

Re: XBian - Small, Fast, Lightweight XBMC solution

Is downmixing to stereo from 5.1-audio broken in XBian like it is in Raspbmc and OMXplayer? i.e. is dialogue very quiet and background noise way too loud with movies that use 5.1 audio. Dom found the bug in this thread http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=14051 and it looks like i...

Re: Unpowered Raspi breaking HDMI-CEC

Interesting, just tonight I left the Pi hooked up to our TV and powered on... when wife went to bed and turned off TV it kept turning it's self back on until I unplugged the Pi's HDMI cable. Guessing this is related?? As far as I understand this issue is only a problem when the Pi is plugged in but...

Re: Preparation for additional codecs???

whoa, this would be awesome! Any chance of "maybe" a list of some codecs that "may be" being worked on/considered... I'd LOVE to hit cancel on my handbrake queue transcoding all 190 of my SD mpeg2 movies to H.264. Although, the space savings is nice but I'm not sure it's worth all the power I'm usin...

Re: Any good cheap Pi cases out there?

I'm using a case from modmypi.com currently. My second Pi is going to go into an old Gameboy. My Pi is overclocked and it doesn't get hot inside the case which only has moderate ventilation in it IMO. There are plenty of examples of cases with none or almost no ventilation and nobody has had any iss...

Re: May I introduce: The Pitendo

I just built a HTPC with a Mini ITX motherboard I squeezed into an Original NES. I didn't want to sacrafice my working one so I tried to win some on ebay but, I'm not paying $40+ for broken ones. If you are looking for one, I found some at a local flee market. Working ones were being sold for $5-$10...

Re: Quick and Dirty Rpi server game boy case

Thank you Dodger! I was debating using my old gameboy for this. I have two but since they're both working I was reluctant to sacrifice one for this. Your screen replacement graphic pushed me over the edge... taking one apart right now!

Re: Farnell order status

Guessing it's going to be a while, I ordered April 3 and my order status shows "backordered" with an expected ship date of 05 Jul 2012. Granted, there was that blog post that said: We now have in excess of 100,000 confirmed orders for the Raspberry Pi globally and can confirm that everyone who order...
