Re: Can't Load Up Samba Client

This is weird. I'm running Raspbian Jessie (default, i.e. stable) with no apt-related "tweaks" (like changes to sources.list) and the smbclient package version available to me depends on samba-common 2:4.1.17+dfsg-2 (confirmed using apt-cache show) and therefore installs just fine...

Re: Storage server with RAID on multi micro sd cards

No, you can't buy a 512 GB memory card for $10. Such cards are fake and their real capacity is much lower. Buy a hard drive if you want to share a lot of data.

Re: Vncserver on Boot

For Raspbian Jessie (with systemd), you can create a service:
viewtopic.php?f=66&t=123457

Also remember that SSH is enabled by default.

Re: [HELP] Which one do I buy??

For web browsing, it's much better to buy a used PC / laptop. Even old Core 2 Duo is much faster. Raspberry Pi is not suitable for doing CPU demanding tasks. And AFAIK buying Raspberry Pi in order to run Android on it is not a good idea either. (Maybe Banana Pi would be a better choice, since it has...

Re: starting Kodi

Do you have enough graphic memory to run Kodi (at least 128 / 160 MB, ideally 256 MB)? Are you not trying to display Kodi remotely (for example using VNC)? And what exactly do you mean by
it just sits there, and nothing loads

Re: VNC server in Jessie (using a systemd service)

First, I must say I'm definitely not a systemd expert, so I recommend googling for more information (at least the basic systemctl commands like list-unit-files, daemon-reload, enable, disable, start, stop, restart and status, which are basically self-explanatory anyway). But I'll try to answer your ...

VNC server in Jessie (using a systemd service)

VNC server in Jessie (using a systemd service) Hello, I couldn't find anywhere how to create a vnc server (using TightVNC) service for systemd, which replaces old System V init starting with Debian / Raspbian 8 (Jessie). So here's how I managed to do that. 1. Install Tight VNC server: sudo apt-get i...
