Re: OpenGL Starter/Tips

Okay so if OpenGL isn't a really good way to start or do this with then what would I do to make an app that I could run for the emulator in C++. I'm not able to pick up another language at this point because I currently need more experience in C++ so I can continue to succeed in school. Are there an...

OpenGL Starter/Tips

I am trying to start using OpenGL with my RPi so that I can get a program idea of mine to work and so I can also play around with it. Is OpenGL something that I can use to make an interface that I can click on and also use with a touch screen down the road? Is there a different style I should use th...

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

One other point. Looks like you might be using a wireless keyboard/mouse. Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:c534 Logitech, Inc Is that right? Interference between the wifi dongle and the wireless keyboard dongle could be the problem, or maybe too much current being drawn on the USB bus. It might help if ...

Okay so I followed all those instructions and both of the settings were at 0 when I did that cat commands. But the wifi is still not staying connected. I can't go to google or anything on the browser let alone ping the website from terminal. Any other suggestions? Could be a power supply issue as h...

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

So when I go to the file it seems to be the right one. The other three are just a blacklist file for different things. I put the code into the file and saved it and rebooted several times since then and nothing changed. Where would I go to find the options for my specific dongle?

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

For the conf file you are refering to do I put it in the ipv6.conf file or is it a different one? There were four in the modprobe.d folder. They were: fbdev-blacklist.conf ipv6.conf libpisock9.conf raspi-blacklist.conf I feel like it would be the ipv6.conf but let me know. I am gonna try it for now ...

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

Okay so I got the new cord and the colored square hasn't shown up like normal so I believe I have that part working now. But the WiFi seems to connect and disconnect over and over and sometimes the WiFi symbol blinks. This is the adapter I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009FA2UYK/ref=pe_1...

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

Okay so it looks like I need to get the new cord and then try my luck from there. I'm glad that you guys warned me before I went and bought it. I will go out and buy it tonight and see if that helps. I will post the WiFi adapter model and the other stuff if I still have problems. Thanks guys!

PipBoy 3000 Fallout 3 Project

I am attempting to make a functioning touch screen based application that would mirror the actions that you get on the game Fallout 3. I have a 3D print being made too. I want to know if there is an easy way to get this to work in C++ to emulate the functionality of the game's Pip-Boy 3000. I unders...

Re: WiFi Adapter issues

So would buying a 10V power block be a good substitute in order to get it to work? I can get a better cable no problem but will too much Voltage overload the RPi or should it be fine? That is something I need to know before I go buy it. The Amperage on the one I saw at the store was higher I think b...

I have done that. I have set that up and even gotten the ethernet and wifi to share connections but it doesn't seem to go to the raspberry pi when I try to use internet on the RPi.

WiFi Adapter issues

I am trying to use this WiFi adapter that I got for my Raspberry Pi 2 since I don't have ethernet ports in my apartment. When I go to use my RPi I get that "low power" warning from the colored block up in the top right hand corner and I have a 5V 2.1A block that is powering the RPi with a ...

Bridge Internet Connection from Laptop

I have a raspberry pi 2 and I do not have an ethernet port or router to use in the apartment that I am living in. So I need to try and bridge the connection from my laptop to my RPi. I have successfully changed the settings on my laptop to use an ethernet cable as a bridge but it doesn't seem like m...

Re: Download extra "stuff" to SD card

I'm running Raspbian Jessie if that helps at all. And I don't understand how to really work with any of those suggestions with programming. I may just have to wait until I can get my WiFi adapter.

Re: Download extra "stuff" to SD card

How exactly do I share the laptops wifi? I understand connecting the two with an ethernet cable but what else it there to do? Just simply select the connection from within the RPI? If that can work then that would be awesome!

Download extra "stuff" to SD card

I just recently got my Raspberry Pi 2 in the mail today and I was wondering, since I don't have the wifi Dongle yet and no ethernet option, am I able to load something like a g++ compiler or a c++ IDE on to the SD Card that I used to get the disk image? I want to get a C++ IDE that I can run on my R...

Re: New to Raspberry Pi - how to do 'menus'

Well that was a better set of info. Thank you. My past experience is only what I have done in my first year of college and with using Visual Basic on my own. I don't know how to use html or GUI or anything like them. I am only experienced in Basic C++ and a small amount of Java from CodeAcademy.com....

Okay I'll bite. What are you getting at? It's hard to understand what you mean when I have never touched or developed anything involving a Raspberry Pi or networking or anything of that nature. So what is it you're trying to tell me to do because you didn't give me hardly anything to go off of.

Re: New to Raspberry Pi

Well this wouldn't be a web based app or device. I would just want it to do one thing. And that thing would be predetermined and wouldn't change. Like I said I don't have a lot of experience besides what little I know in procedural programming and basic object-oriented programming. I guess I need su...

New to Raspberry Pi - how to do 'menus'

I am brand new to the world of Raspberry Pi projects and the programming that goes with it. I have some experience in C++ coding and want to take on a project of my own. The basis of the project would be to make a display that I can edit to display different things with different menus. I realize th...
