How do I print without spaces

I have a Python 3 program that Prints out a date that I have stored in a variable. I would like to print with brackets it like this, (2019-06-29). However, it always prints like this, ( 2019-06-29 ) with a space between my brackets and the date. The only problem I have are the spaces. Can these spac...

Re: WiFi - Hot Spot Access

Thanks but there will be no Physical access to the Pi, in the application I have planned. VNC is essential and I use it daily on 4 other Pi's and it is extremely good in my opinion.

Re: WiFi - Hot Spot Access

@YitEarp
Thank you, I had not seen that article before.

Come to think of it, I am not sure though how to access the Pi Headless, although I hope I can still use VNC.

WiFi - Hot Spot Access

The latest Issue (82) of the MagPi magazine features an article, starting on Page 38 with details about how to build a Pi Keyring. On Page 41 of the same article, there is mention of using the Pi to create a Hotspot. I am a regular and very satisfied user of VNC at home (both from a Windows PC and a...

I have had a similar experience previously and I was looking in the incorrect Directory for the cron file.

Hiding and Replacing items in tkinter

I am using Python 3. I have used tkinter reasonably successfully (using the grid command to locate items) in that I can draw and delete lines etc using the 'tag' command. However, is it possible to replace those deleted items, as I need to be able to remove them temporarily. I realise that it is pos...

tkinter - A Meter Counter

After receiving so much help from many members on this Forum with my programs, I felt it may be worthwhile posting a program I have written, to produce a Digital Display / Meter Counter in tkinter. I wrote this after searching a long time, without success for a simple tkinter program, that looks lik...

Re: VNC Display

I had initially hoped that the solution would be easy - but I had not expected it to be that easy!
A simple click to toggle the icon indicated by your blue arrow to the 'scale to fit' setting as you suggested was all that was needed.

Thank you very much.

Re: VNC Display

@HawaiianPi If I pull down from the top of my Android Display, I can get something similar (but not the same as your graphic) but I don't have anything like that on the Windows 10 PC. As in my previous answer to scruss, is it the /boot/config.txt file that you are referring to as a config file? If s...

Re: VNC Display

@scruss
Thanks.
It did occur to me that it may not have happened before but I thought surely that was unlikely.

When you say Raspi config, I have been editing the /boot/config.txt file, is that what you mean?

When I raised this thread, I felt that a reply would come quite quickly as I thought it seems rather a basic problem, that despite many hours of trying, I have been unable to correct.

VNC Display

I have 4 Pi's, all Headless. They are all controlled via VNC and all displayed on either a Windows 10 PC or an Android smartphone. This works very well and I find VNC excellent to do exactly what I want. A minor issue I have though is that 2 of the Pi's display the entire Desktop picture perfectly o...

Re: Changing the colour of a tkinter button

When I first introduced the buttons for each day, I was quite pleased with my programming, because I did not draw them all individually and I used the following code. These lines were used near the start of the program dayy = today.strftime ('%w') dayname = ['Sun','Mon','Tue','Wed','Thu','Fri','Sat'...

Re: Changing the colour of a tkinter button

The information provided to me above is invaluable and the use of config works really well at changing the Button parameters. I have named the 7 buttons that represent the days, BtnDay0, BtnDay1, etc up to BtnDay6, (Sunday to Saturday). I can achieve what I want to do next with some very untidy prog...

Changing the colour of a tkinter button

Python 3 Is it possible to change the colour of a tkinter button, based upon decisions within the program. I have a tkinter program that includes a bar chart with a bar for each hour of the day. It also has 7 buttons, one for each day of the week. I am saving the bar chart data to the SD card, at th...

@gordon77
Thanks for that link and of course I was very much involved in asking all the questions 2 months ago. Reading it again, reminds me now that I was suspecting that it may have been written for Stretch (that I did not have at the time).
Hopefully I will get time to try it again tomorrow.

Re: Cannot import ImageTk

@B.Goode It's actually both for different reasons The issue when I tried to run the program on Python 3, was the cv2, so I reluctantly used it on Python 2 and it worked well. I then purchased the 3B+ and loaded it with Stretch. I added Idle 2 to my 3B+ to enable it to run Python 2. Then the Image Tk...
