RetroPie alternatives that don't require dual-booting?

I'm only interested in emulators for those 3-4 platforms that I have legally obtained ROMs (mainly MS-DOS and Sega Genesis). I want to avoid dual-booting, and would prefer to run these within Pixel. What are my options?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far, but I still haven't received direct answers to any of the questions in the OP.

Can I expect much better performance from a microSD card?

I'm trying to get the best i/o performance I can from the microSD slot (overclocked to 100 MHz). I know that a USB or network drive would be faster, but I'm sticking with microSD for portability. How does this look? hdparm: 39.90 MB/s dd test: 25.3 MB/s iozone 4K random read: 10.15 MB/s iozone 4K ra...

Re: Passively cooling the Pi 3B in a closed case?

If you are making a completely closed case, it may be better to make the case out of brass or aluminum, and have a protrusion to contact the SoC and conduct the heat out to the outer case. As you specify a closed case I presume there is a good reason, like partial submersion or such. No, I am just ...

Re: Passively cooling the Pi 3B in a closed case?

Just spend $14.95 and buy this: https://flirc.tv/more/raspberry-pi-case they've built the whole case as a heatsink with a 12mm*12mm pad attached to the RPi3 processor. It's also quite pretty and available as Kodi variant (assuming you're not scared of being arrested by the Anti-Piracy-Anti-Kodi Pol...

Passively cooling the Pi 3B in a closed case?

I was a heat sink skeptic during the Pi 2 days, but my new Pi 3B is giving me the temperature warning symbol after watching just 30 seconds of a YouTube video. So I'm finally willing to bite the bullet just to avoid CPU throttling. A few questions: 1. I'm going to assume that passively cooling the P...

How long is the typical wait for Allied Pi orders?

Last week I purchased my way into a 3,000 unit back-order line for a Pi 2 ( https://www.alliedelec.com/raspberry-pi-raspberry-pi-2-model-b/70465426/ ). While I'm sure this is nothing compared to the launch lines six months ago, my excitement has me curious: approximately how long does it take to get...
