Re: Problems with omxplayer on Fedberry

Tried other as well but I still get the error "failed to open vchiq instance". As compared to other distros, security on Fedberry is a bit tighter and by default, won't allow access to /dev/vchiq for non root users. If you want to use omxplayer as a non root user, you will have to add the desired u...

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Hello vaughan! I have installed fedora 23 remix on RPi 2B. However when I run the following command: dnf install kernel-devel-$(uname -r) it returns with the error: No package kernel-devel-4.2.5-400.50acac3.bcm2709.fc23.armv7hl available. Error: Unable to find a match. Do you know how to solve it? ...

Re: Fedora 23 ARM & Raspberry Pi 3

Thanks! It works just fine. What does the name "test" imply? If I do regular dnf updates, will it eventually converge with the final version? 'test' implies that the images were built from everything in the stable and testing repos. Yes, just keep doing your dnf updates and everything in 'testing' ...

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Everyone As many people have been asking me about RPi 3 support, I thought I would post a bit of an update. For those who have been using the 'testing' repository, you would have already noted we've had support for the RPi 3 for some time. In addition, the FedBerry 23 test release images have sup...

Re: Fedora 23 ARM & Raspberry Pi 3

We have support for RPi 3 in our FedBerry 'test' releases. You can download them here:

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Having a newborn is hard for brain sometimes:)))))) Yep, been there done that, I know exactly how your feel! Congratulations BTW! About organisation. How about to add package building each time when we commit to repe on github? Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure how to implement this (yet). ...

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Gor Thanks for your offer of help, its always very handy to have some skilled sysadmins around! I'm just not sure exactly how you can help at this stage as I am still a bit disorganised when it comes to development. I am all for suggestions, ideas, bug reports & testing etc etc. I have started pu...

Does RPMFusion support this arch?
I personally haven't used rpmfusion on my RPi2 but after taking a quick look at their repo they do indeed seem to have armhfp builds.

Yes, I create my remixes this way.
At the moment, work seems to be progressing well for upstream kernel support but I'm not sure when it will be mainlined.

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Further to my previous comment, I have finally got around to shrinking down the 'minimal' release to a 'mini' release. Its not quite a JEOS release, but more like a 'bares bones' release which is a bit more optimised for the RPi2. I also wanted it to be headless 'out of the box', so root and user pa...

Re: Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Excellent. I didn't manage to get spartacus06's image builder to work [0] but this worked the first time. Should the raspberry camera module also work with this image? raspivid seems to be unhappy and suggests I need to run raspi-config. I don't include raspi-config in my repo and Fedora doesn't pa...

Fedora 23 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Everyone I have updated my 'Fedora Remixes' (FedBerry) for the RPi2 to Fedora 23. I'm not sure yet when we will be getting an official Fedora RPi2 spin but in the meantime these remixes should tide you over. Download images here: http://fedberry.agrez.net Yum repository here: https://vaughan.fedo...

Re: Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Thanks for the pointers. I have just managed to get my first F23 remix going, using LXDE and your F23 rpms. There are a few issues for me to work through still, but it boots to a GUI interface, and seems to be basically working. I ran with the text mode initial setup, because it is tricky to use th...

Re: Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Vaughan, I see you have an F23 minimal now, good work! Yes I uploaded it a few days ago but didn't say anything as its all a bit bleeding edge. I wanted to use it for a week or so and see how it was behaving. It uses a kernel based on the newer rpi-4.2.y branch and I not exactly sure how stable ...

Re: Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Everyone After several enquiries from users I have decided to enable selinux support in my kernels, which will bring it more into line with fedora defaults (default bcm2709 kernel configs do not have it enabled). An updated kernel (kernel-4.1.10-301.9e8e5dc) will hit the repo shortly with selinux...

Re: Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Paul Yes, most rpms are just system files / scripts or binary blobs (eg. firmware) that don't need compiling. At present the only rpms I need to compile are the kernel and raspberrypi-vc rpms. For the moment, I just build everything natively on the RPi2. Yes, maybe if I was compiling a lot of dif...

Re: Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Good work. Any chance of some write up on how you are creating the image - I have been trying to get F23 beta working (XFCE and Workstation) by creating a Frankenstein's monster - RPI firmware from github combined with the stock F23 arm root partition. This approach worked for XFCE/LXDE in F22, but...

Fedora 22 Remix for Pi 2B

Hi Everyone I have been maintaining a fedora 22 kernel for my RPi2 for a few months now and have noticed various people asking for fedora 22 disk images for their RPi2's. Since no one has yet obliged, I thought I would provide some Fedora 22 Remix images for people to use, whilst we wait for officia...
