Re: Pimoroni Mote Sticks (lights) and Google AIY

Many thanks for this. I've got it working with Mote strips on a remote Pi. At first, I forgot that you have to run the Mote API script on the one with the lights! Also, I had trouble with the keyword not being stripped out and it trying to find a colour starting with it. So I altered it to the follo...

Re: Podcast player

I can't see a vlc.py file in the repo. Can I use the same one as for the Google Music player?

Re: Google AIY & Google Music

Thanks for all the help. It's working well now.

One thing I'm concerned about is the security of my Google account password, though. Is it encrypted when sent? Maybe it's best to turn on two-factor authentication?

Re: Google AIY & Google Music

Yay, that works: I changed the command to 'music'. It must have been using two words that confused it?

Ah, it's looking for 'google music now 96'. I'll try changing the voice command word (I'm already using play for YouTube music playback).

Could you post the debug output? You should get something like this: [2017-05-16 20:29:12,158] INFO:speech:transcript: play perturbator Looking for... perturbator Found playlist data. Found... Re: Google AIY & Google Music

I've got it running and it finds the playlists OK, but then after it says the local command has been handled (I'm using the keyword ‘Google music’), it doesn't play anything and just goes back to listening mode, waiting for a new command. Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

Ah, I've fixed it now. I think it was due to the playerargs not being set to vlc. The command should be:

Code: Select all

mpsyt set player vlc, set playerargs vlc, exit

Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

It was working fine with omxplayer, but now I'm getting no audio using vlc. Yet I'm using the latter to play radio stations OK. Any ideas?

Re: APP: play tracks from youtube !

Thanks so much for this, mikerr!

I rebooted the device first, thinking it wasn't working, but I forgot that there's a quite a long delay before it plays the track. It's working great now, although I turned the volume down to 80% to avoid distortion from the speaker.

Re: How do you Shutdown?

Hi, I added a new voice command to do a shutdown: Edit the file ~/voice-recognizer-raspi/src/action.py Then add a new voice command in the code at the position shown below; # ========================================= # Makers! Add your own voice commands here. # ====================================...

If you ask it to play a track on Google Play Music, and have a subscription, it still won't play: it says something like 'music playback isn't enabled on this device yet'.

The torch mode isn't working for me either. All the other flash modes work fine when you then take a still with camera.capture.

Thanks for this. It worked for me, although I was getting double key presses until I switched the input method to Mouse (from Touch screen) in the Florence settings.

Re: [how to] enable long touch as right click

Same here – worked great on Wheezy but not Jessie. The device names do match (FT5406 memory based driver), so it doesn't seem to be that. Also, I noticed that when I do long-press in Jessie, a document icon appears under my finger.
