/etc/rc.local not running command on boot

Hey, ive added the line "chromium-browser" to the end of my /etc/rc.local file, (before exit 0) in an attempt to lauch Chromium on boot. Chromium opens fine when I run /etc/rc.local in a terminal, however it refuses to lauch when the system starts up. Any idea what im doing wrong?

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the default config.txt file?

After maybe two years of letting them sit around and collect dust, ive finally decided to boot up my pi's again :). So, im pretty rusty, and made a stupid mistake, I edited my config.txt without making a copy of the original, anyone know a way to either revert the changes or where I can get a copy o...

Re: Will running the Pi from a USB source damage it?

Plus, there's the issue of the display, proudly representing the store to customers, with an inexplicable lightning symbol in the corner. It was a good idea, but didn't pan out. I'm not too worried about the lightning symbol. It's barely noticeable anyway. ;) The Pi Zero uses noticeably less power ...

Re: Will running the Pi from a USB source damage it?

AFAIK it shouldnt damage the pi. However the pi may become unstable or crash, which may corrupt the data on the sd card.

Re: Soldering Devices

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=soldering Personally I just use a soldering iron to keep my tea warm. I hope you use lead free solder :) It's what you spin with. Pre-dates the "walking wheel" which pre-dates the "flyer wheel", which is what you think of when someone says "spinning whee...

Re: Khadas Vim: new ARM SBC kid on the block

Not directly connected to Pi, so moving to off topic. Sales of 13 million + SBCs - no1 on Earth - but still scared of discussing any competition = sign of psychological weakness! Disappointed :( Im not going to bother to point out how stupid this post is, since other users have got there before me,...

Theres a "welcom to new users sticky"? I did not know that. As sticky that is also global (appearing above all topics) is (for example) here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=95840&f=63#p95840 ...What just happened? The content in my post was completely different from that, and i ...

We need more info! :)
How were you powering the pi's? Were they in cases? Exactly how and where were they setup? Did you make any notable hardware (or software) changes recently before they died?

Re: How to find the reason of raspberry pi crash?

Hello, I have a raspberry pi 3 model B and lately it is crashing alot and I would like to know why. I don't have any input hardware (mouse, keyboard, ...) connected to it and no monitor aswell. I have Raspbian running on the device, so I just SSH in when I need to access it. However, sometimes I ca...

Re: Pi Zero not booting, possibly defective

Have you tried using a different sd card? Yours might be damaged, and some cards just dont work on the pi. Unfortunately I do not have a spare SD Card on hand but I will pick one up on Monday when the shops open. Instead of buying another card, try using the current card your using with one of your...

Hello, I recently got my hands on a Pi Zero and I am having issues getting it to boot. I have read the stickied post about booting[1] and have not been able to make any progress. I have tried installing NOOBS, Raspbian and a few other premade images to no success. I have also tried to plug the Pi Z...

maybe I was expecting something like that  But you didn't send your prediction to a neutral third party with a time stamp previous to his eminently predictable retort, so as arbitrator of snarky, I'm left to rule against you, although you do have my support in spirit. Prove that i didnt :D PS...
