Re: SD Card Keeps getting corrupted?

Boot problem solved. It seems something went wrong when I downgraded from linux-raspberrypi-3.1.9-21-arm to raspberrypi-3.1.9-20-arm, I replaced the /boot kernel.img manually and can now successfully boot again. Now I'm back on this kernel version the mmc errors don't happen. I'm using a Transcend c...

Re: SD Card Keeps getting corrupted?

I've just updated to the latest kernel on arch Linux and experienced exactly those errors. Unfortunately the system no longer boots; it stops on

Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p2...

Re: Booting from emergency kernel [solved]

Has anyone successfully booted the RPi from the emergency kernel (by renaming it kernel.img)?  When I try I just get either no output on HDMI or random 'noise' pixels on the screen.

I've tried a few distros with the same result.

Re: Kernel Panic on concurrent network and usb storage

I too experienced this issue. A workaround mentioned in this forum topic seems to be working for me:

while true ; do echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches ; sleep 1 ; done &

I've streamed a couple of hours of 1080p h264 over the network from an attached USB disk.

Re: USB hub sending power to Raspberry PI through USB port

<t>Hi,<br/> <br/> I notice that when I plug my USB hub into one of the USB ports on the pi, the power light comes on.  The pi doesn't boot until I connect power to the micro usb power connector, but I'm worried I may be damaging my pi.<br/> <br/> I don't yet have access to a voltage meter so I can't...

Re: ArchlinuxARM on Raspberry Pi

Thanks for the tips.

I purchased a transcend 4GB class 4 and I'm pleased to say everything is now working great - also much faster than on the Sandisks I was using.

Re: ArchlinuxARM on Raspberry Pi

<t>Setting log level to 7 has thrown some more light onto this.  It would appear that the later kernels don't like either of my sd cards (one of them being the SanDisk Ultra II 2GB 15MB/s that should be 'pi compatible'). The error during boot up is:<br/> <br/> <br/> mmcblk0: error -84 transferring d...
