Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

It's OK - I worked it out and realized that I needed to use ./RPi_Camera_Web_Interface_Installer.sh autostart_yes

Re: Pi Camera Quality

Thanks very much for the quick and thorough reply - and for looking in detail at the images I took! That's very much appreciated. It looks like I may have a camera module that is 'close focused' from the early batch and I'll try to manually reset that as folks have described. Also, it appears I need...

Pi Camera Quality

I just ordered from Adafruit and received the new pi camera board and I am concerned about the quality of the images that I am able to capture. The images appear to be out of focus. Also, when taking images with bright light backgrounds the automatic balancing washes out much of the background. I am...

Re: Kivy installation on Raspi (cython install issue)

Same thing happened to me but it turned out that I was just not being patient - on my raspberry pi 2 it took about 15 minutes to complete the pip install cython.
At Matt Richardson's suggestion I monitored what was going on using another tty session and running top.

Re: Official touch display not working (blank)

** aargh! ** it was something obvious! I had put the ribbon cable in upside down, that connects the board for the display with the pi I clearly am not very good at reading instructions. I think when I checked it, all I did was to see that the ribbon cable writing was on the inside bend of the cable ...

Official touch display not working (SOLVED)

I got my element 14 official rpidisplay and went through the build instructions in the video on the blog. However either the rpi is not detecting that there is an lcd screen, or the item is dead. I've double checked the ribbon connectors, run sudo apt update and upgrade. The pi is booting up OK beca...

Headless sense hat with joystick

I am trying to create a simple headless game which uses the onboard joystick and led matrix. But pygame requires a screen and so I get an error when trying to use the pygame to access the joystick ... Any suggestions for a workaround?

Re: Astro Pi tutorial problem

OK I worked it out - the instructions by the way are incorrect on the learning page https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/astro-pi-guide/software.md because they miss the instruction to pip install pillow (I think the instructions elsewhere have been updated, but not on the 'learning' section) My mis...

Re: Astro Pi tutorial problem

I ran into this same issue (it still doesn't list the pip install pillow step)
Having done pip install pillow i got a subsequent error when running the test program
ImportError: No module named Image

Help - I'm stuck and don't know what to do :)!

Missing modules when running test progra

Hi I've just got and plugged in my sensehat. I have been following the setup instructions in the Guide at https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/astro-pi-guide/ when I run my first test program I get an error 'ImportError; No module named PIL' I tried to fix this on the suggestion of a posted message ...
