I can confirm there is issues since last update. My screen is White on reboot and cannot shut off the screen using /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/bl_power" Off as allof the symbolick links now seem to be missing from the /sys/ dir......

Raspberry, Please fix this ASAP!!!

Any updates on this one? Also I forgot to mention that is we can turn it off, I would like to turn it back on via PRI sensor detection or via touching the screen to wake it up would be nice too..

But this also flip the touch screen as well, or will the touch features be on the wrong sides now that the display is flipped?

I tried this, it is a nice hack, but the update should not have flipped the screen 180 degrees in the first place......

Hello, today I did an update and
libraspberrypi-dev armhf 1.20150923-1
libraspberrypi-bin armhf 1.20150923-1
libraspberrypi0 armhf 1.20150923-1
raspberrypi-bootloader armhf 1.20150923-1

installed.

When I rebooted the screen is now 180 degrees rotated :-( How can I fix this please?

That makes sense. I just checked and the 5V is immediately available. Mine is being powered by an always on 5v source from a board on top of the Pi 2.

Powering the screen from the 3rd party Hat board that has 5v power to the displays daughter board worked perfect. Thank you for your help!

Hello I tried to use the USB, but could not get it to power up from any USB port. Is there a way to chekc in the OS that power is on to the port? I am using DietPi OS. Could that be off by default?

I too am looking for the same functionality. I would like to turn on the display with a PIR motion sensor and then have it time out after a certain amount of time with no activity. ( home automation system as well ) ...

is this the official response or we think it may not be available yet?

Would like to get this ASAP, as I plan to add a proximity sensor to turn on when I enter room and off after a certain time frame.
