Re: Shutdown problems

Have you attached any devices t the AIY HAT? I had some problems as well, having attached several servos to the HAT. No idea what has been the actual problem.

Re: AIY voice kit and official display?

Something like this was in my mind, I was thinking about a voice controlled video player for my grand children.
In the meantime I have found a description of an AIY voice driven magic mirror using the official display, so the combination seems to work.

Re: AIY voice kit and official display?

Thanks for the clarification, the HDMI connection works well.

I may have the time to check over the weekend and let you know. I was asking because I ran into problems while trying to run the the AIY HAT in parallel with the Blinkt! pHAT, but this could also due to software issues.

Re: Total control of LED & Button

You can set the LED to the following conditions: OFF ON BLINK BLINK_3 BEACON BEACON_DARK DECAY PULSE_SLOW PULSE_QUICK As defined in https://github.com/google/aiyprojects-raspbian/blob/aiyprojects/src/aiy/_drivers/_led.py . They should do the job. The button has some functions, I had played with wait...

Re: Servo demo problems

I had been playing a bit with the AIY voice kit and servos, using GPIOzero AngularServo, as it allows a more precise control of the servos. See at https://www.instructables.com/id/AIY-Hampelmann-a-Voice-Controlled-Jumping-Jack/ . I had a lot of jitter (correct English term?) of the servos, especiall...

AIY voice kit and official display?

Can the AIY voice kit be used in conjunction with the official 7' display?
I have not tried yet, but would like to build a voice controlled media-player for my grandchildren.

Re: Sensing / Logging/ Communicating

If you would use a Pi2 (or Pi3) I would suggest to use Wolfram Mathematica for frequency analysis.
I have no idea if an A+ would be sufficient to run it .

Re: Visual demo of lens focus difference vs. wavelength

I have been using one of these cameras with different lenses for a microscope project. While it works well, you can see a phenomenon called chromatic abberation, which results from the same effect, the dependency of the focus form the wavelength. In my case I get a yellowish spot in the center and a...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero

My local (Berlin) vendor informed me today (Jan 27) that they have Zeros available now, one per customer.

I would interpret this as a sign that a larger amount of the Zeros became available at the market the last days.

Re: M12 lens adapter for camera module

WaveShare is offering RPi cameras with s-mount objectives. You can easily change the lenses to others of your choice. I acctually managed to construct a reasonably good, inexpensive and easy to build microscope using the WaveShare B camera with the provided 6 mm focus length lens. In addition I am u...

Re: rpi-update turns touchscreen upside-down [SOLVED]

Thanks, so it had ben upside-down before? "Actually it is correct now and was upside down before. You get a better viewing angle from above than below which is normally what is desired. Add lcd_rotate=2 to config.txt if you prefer the previous behaviour. " So as recomended, I tried to turn it and pl...

rpi-update turns touchscreen upside-down [SOLVED]

Hi there, a few minutes ago I ran sudo rpi-update on a new Pi2 with the new touchscreen attached. After reboot, the screen was turned upside-down. The bad thing: I already have build the screen into a fixed frame and it would be difficult to turn it manually. Can some tell me how to adjust the Pi's ...

Re: Multiscreen=AWESOME- how to support via Python/PyGame?

Hi Liam, so far I have not managed to have both screens running at the same time, and the only option to do so, so far I have read, was running videos on OMXPlayer. Do I need special adjustments to the config-files or alike? is there a trick to have one desktop on the touch screen and another on the...

Re: Touch screen keyboard for Official RPi 7" touch screen

I have tried the Matchbox keyboard and it is working reasonably well. I used the same construct as above, with a USB connection between the screen and the RasPi. I have been using an external battery pack (2A) and various USB power supplies. In all cases I got the power indicator/rainbow square, but...
