Re: Perfect fit for display rear enclosure: Hammond 1591XXE

It's held in by friction at the moment, cut the hole just enough for the display to sit tightly in the frame but you could use double sided tape around the perimeter of the glass to secure it.

Re: Perfect fit for display rear enclosure: Hammond 1591XXE

Indeed, just seemed simpler to retain the removable lid on the rear for access. I used Pimoroni's LCD frame as a template to cut the opening. Sadly the display does overhang by a millimetre on one side but it's barely noticeable. Even though the case does taper slightly towards the back (now the fro...

Re: Perfect fit for display rear enclosure: Hammond 1591XXE

Box arrived yesterday, quick Dremel to make an opening for the display and for the power lead and it's all done. 3DPrinted some feet to keep it at the right angle.

Re: Official 7" Display On-Screen keyboard

And ...

Re: Official 7" Display On-Screen keyboard

I heard about this via a Pimoroni Newsletter. Their sales page mentions support for a keyboard. Truly Interactive - the latest software drivers will support a virtual ‘on screen’ keyboard, so there is no need to plug in a keyboard and mouse. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/raspberry-pi-7-touchscr...

Re: Official 7" Display On-Screen keyboard

Hmm OK thanks. I saw that but the ads for the display suggested it was something new and would be installed as part of the update to support the display so I thought it must be a different thing entirely. If that's the one then I'll go install it, but surprised there is no more detail on that part o...

Official 7" Display On-Screen keyboard

Installed the display yesterday, all OK once I realised the power adapter wasn't man enough and found a 2A version. I've run sudo apt-get update and upgrade and the screen is working and I have rudimentary touch, not sure I have multi-touch enabled and I don't have an on-screen keyboard. Any pointer...
