Black Friday at Yodeck with a complete Pi 3 bundle

Hi everyone, at Yodeck.com, we are giving away our Pi 3 bundle at $59 (instead of $79). Wish we could lower it more, but official stuff are still quite pricey! Here is what you get: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Official Raspberry Pi 3 Case Official Raspberry Pi Power Supply 16GB SD Card (Class 10) HDMI ca...

Re: Digital Signage on RaspPi3

Any hints on how to get 1080p60? Have not looked into that deep yet. I took a completely different approach for video walls: Every Pi works independent but plays its content synced by the wall clock. We will be implementing this also, mostly for syncing non-video/image content across Players that a...

Hi trondis23, you get free raspberry Pi only for one year subscription. At 1play.tv pay only if you are using application. And if you already have Pi3 is actually great because you can use DIY procedure and enroll your Pi in this application. Plus you can have video walls for free. Enjoy ! Just to ...

Re: stop Raspberry Pi firewall authentication box

Hi, at https://www.yodeck.com we have a lot of users with similar issues when it comes to form-based authentication. Difficult to resolve it. We are now adding scripting support to next month that will allow our users to automate actions on a web page, so that they can login, click, navigate, scroll...

Messages in this thread deal with getting a Pi desktop environment working in 4K.

There is absolutely no sense in trying to get 4K for Kodi.

Re: Raspberry Pi and 4k @ 15Hz

It seems that there is a inherent restriction on the hardware that does not allow you to have a DispmanX layer starting left of the 2047 pixel. Just thought I should also update the thread here. Except that and the CEC adapter, everything else works fine on 4K. Of course, the HVS has more work to do...

Re: My raspberry gets stuck after some days of working

I have seen really weird stuff when the PSU or the SD card is crappy.

If you ruled these out and still can't find what's wrong, you could always setup the hardware watchdog of the Pi. It will reboot it if it gets stuck.

I've seen a lot of people using 2 or 3 for the v_sync_pulse - but the datasheets seem to show that parameter in the unit of 'lines' or T^H, not in pixel clocks.
AFAIK, it's scanlines. Check the diagram on this post.

Re: Resize image for use on a smaller sd card

We do something similar, shrinking the standard Raspbian image. We have a standard procedure which involves resizing the filesystem, shrinking the partition, zeroing out free space on the partition and then image on exactly what we need. I could share some step if you want. In your case, you could j...

Check out our service, Yodeck Digital Signage. It is easy for end-users and free for 1 Pi, so you can play around.

If you want zero cost, there is always Screenly OSE and other DIY options, though these might be a bit more complex to setup and/or manage.

Easycap with UTV008 chipset works fine. Can capture video, still missing the audio though. It could probably work for audio also.

Yes, I have seen that too. Will be looking into it, as we need it for a project. I wonder if this could be a firmware issue.

Re: OpenMAX blending of video and alpha mask

I am using the mailbox interface to get lock on a GPU memory allocations. I also get a ARM-space pointer to it and have mmapped /dev/mem. I get the CPU to directly copy raster data into GPU space, and it works fine with DispmanX resources. But I need to use a GL texture. Just today I found out that ...

@dom: Thanks for the link, thought that the Pi had the full OpenMAX spec supported. An overlay won't do, I am trying to show things rendered behind the video, on regions of the Linux framebuffer. @6by9: Indeed it won't help much, usually videos do not have an alpha channel and the transparent region...

OpenMAX blending of video and alpha mask

I am trying to modify omxplayer to allow for a alpha/transparency mask for videos. In the optimal scenario, you would specify multiple " --transparent 'x1 y1 x2 y2' " options to allow for specifying transparent regions within the playback viewport defined by "--win". I am digging into omxplayer code...

Re: Mass SD Card Replicator

I know this is an old post, but i thought I'd share it here. We have built a project using RPis, where we need to restore the whole SD card image from a USB drive upon boot, just like a "firmware" on a traditional embedded device. We did it on Raspbian by providing an initramfs image with a (rather ...

Re: Multiple omxplayer instance window "multiviewer"

Although an old topic, the GPU decoding has a bounded capacity. I think that by using more than one omxplayer instance, you are pushing this capacity to its limits. I did a few quick tests and 2 x 720p videos were ok, but 1 x 1080p video + 1 x 720p (or 1080p) video failed, same with 3 x 720p videos....
