Re: Openocd setup is OK but breakpoints are ignored..

Looks like I was too hasty in complaining about the breakpoints. I think the call to sys_open is optimised out. If I put the break point on do_sys_open then that is triggered as follows.. (gdb) hbreak do_sys_open Hardware assisted breakpoint 1 at 0xc015ad5c: file /usr/src/kernel/fs/open.c, line 1045...

Openocd setup is OK but breakpoints are ignored..

I am trying to get the jtag working in the following setup... Raspberry pi B+ Openocd 0.10.0 JLink v9 cross-gdb 8.2 I can halt the cpu, do a backtrace command 'bt', put hardware breakpoints, resume execution and break again by control-c. But the breakpoints are not triggered ... Tested this by putti...

Re: Application debugging with Openocd possible ?

In this context,
I have a basic doubt: Is it possible to use host-gdb/openocd setup to debug
an user application on RPI ?
I had an exchange in the openocd mailing list, and the answer is this is not possible as of now. Openocd is essentially a 'bare metal' jtag debugger.

Application debugging with Openocd possible ?

Hello members, Earlier I had setup openocd-0.9.0 with jlink jtag and cross gdb 7.9.1 on Atmel 9260 (arm9) board. With this setup I had been able to put breakpoints in the linux kernel (2.6.32.67) and single step the code. Now I will be developing an application on RPi B+ which will interface with de...

JTAG: A doubt regarding 20-pin connection

I have Rev.1.2 B+ RPi and am now getting into baremetal programming. I followed these two fine writeups https://github.com/dwelch67/raspberrypi/tree/master/armjtag and http://sysprogs.com/VisualKernel/tutorials/raspberry/jtagsetup/ to have my JTAG setup done using a FT2232 based jtag adapter. But on...
