Is that a copy/paste error, or do you have an extra "e" in the file?
Give it a go and see if it works, as by bos used to say suck it and see ;).

Re: How do I force RPi to use static ip addresses

https://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi ... ess-update looks like a good article.

However, I would do it by pinning the IP, it should be in the DHCP section of your router.

Using Audio DAC HAT

I have the below DAC HAT but can't work out what the sound device is for the RCA in. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxrd7b61tdu6d4z/piaudio.jpg?dl=0 (tried this as a img but it did not work). I think I may need some driver/module but no idea which. Looks like ALSA can only see the inbuilt one. [email protected]...

Remove GUI (NOOBS)

Hi. I got my NOOBS from RS (https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/sd-cards/1360148/) and it just started up with GUI, no option to just install server flavour. So How do I remove all the GIU components and associated stuff? Googleing led me to try $ sudo apt-get remove --purge x11-common But I got The foll...

Using instructions at https://wiki.debian.org/UnattendedUpgrades, it talks about editing /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20auto-upgrades I added the following lines as they were not there (it was actualy 50 auto-upgrades): APT::Periodic::Update-Package-Lists "1"; APT::Periodic::Unattended-Upgrade "1"; I run una...

Should I move to Ubuntu

There is a lot I love about Pi and rasbian but one this I do not. The lack of an official/simple release upgrade 'script'. My Pi boxes tend to not do a massive amount (backup scripts etc.) but I do want to keep updated with the security updates. I also don't want to reinstall every time I need to up...

Re: Raspbian life cycle

Be good for an official page regarding this. It seems that https://wiki.debian.org/LTS is where to look but it says for jessie 'from June 2018 to end of April 2020' which is odd and seems to indicate it is not currently supported! also from earlier is the thread 'raspbian.org wheezy repo is getting ...

Upgrading Weezy to Jessie headless

Hi.. I had a look at https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=121880 and did some googling. While this seems to work for most my Pis are headless so was wondering if there is a way of upgrading but not installing the GUI. Seems there are a lot of people ruining Pis headless so if there is ...

Waveshare 3.2" LCD V4 and Raspberry Pi 3

I have tried following the instructions for to get it working with an existing install and it did not work (just starts white). I also tried the included image but it just gets to the initial multicoloured square boot screen. Has anyone got this working with the Pi 3?

GUI to monitor input levels.

I am using Darkice on a Rasbery Pi. Am going to add a small 3.2" screen to the front of the Pi and wish to run a program to show the input levels. Anyone know of a suitable program?

Internet Radio with level meters

Hi, I setup a Pi to run darkice when it starts up. It has a external USB soundcard so you just plug it in to a audio source (from a mixing desk) and it automatically starts streaming. This works well but I need to monitor the levels so if they are too high/low I can adjust them by turning output fro...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wolfson-Audio ... Sw0vBUd0-D seems to be the only one that uses the Pi internal Bus. Anyone tried it or got an alternative. Note I don't mind a USB one.

Looking for aundcard/board for use with streaming (darkice)

OK, so I read a few guides about setting up darkice on a Pi and it works great. The only problem is I cant work out what sound card to get. I followed the advice on getting a cheap generic one but can only get it working in mono (if I use 2 channels darkice complains. The one I got was http://www.eb...

No idea what you are taking about. .snip.. Then you need the services of someone who can give your machine a name and have the IP address changed when it does. Dynamic DNS behind (Virgin) Cable Modem/Router

The Cable Modem/router I have (Virgin Superhub) does not have a dynamic DNS facility. I get the impression that I can run something on the Pi that will seance the public IP and update the dynamic DNS service. Is this correct and can someone point me to info on how to do this?
