Re: Post your Raspberry Pi server setup!

I screwed up my first install of Raspbmc with Apache and wordpress, so I started over with lighttpd and SQLite. APC and memcache are running as well. It's a LOT faster now, but there's no denying that wordpress isn't very fast. I still hope to find more ways to increase performance in the future. If...

Re: How would you use a Raspberry Pi device?

Where are the really good Gaming and Multimedia Projects ?

It would be fun to see if a R-Pi could be queezed into a GBA SP. Regular GBA would probably be easier, but it wouldn't have the subtle message because of the clamshell form factor

Re: How would you use a Raspberry Pi device?

<t>My monitor's backlight is dying so I'm thinking about turning the LCD screen into an interactive wall-mounted mood lamp using an R-Pi and some LEDs. I have no idea if it's feasible, but it's worth trying before I throw it away.<br/> <br/> If it works out, it would be great to use with an image sl...

<t>
@Arbelzapf the DAC looks great! Maybe a mobile phone app to control your music player of choice? Would need an old wireless adapter but would be better than a big screen and keyboard.
<br/> <br/> That sounds like a good idea. I already use a remote app on my phone regularly for watc...

Re: Devices that you will be purchasing for use with you Rpi

<r>I\'d love to use a FiiO E10 with it to use the R-Pi as a near-audiophile thin-client in the drawer next to my side of the bed. <URL url="http://www.headfonia.com/the-latest-must-have-the-fiio-e10-usb-dacamp/"><s></s><LINK_TEXT text="http://www.headfonia.com/the-latest-mus ... sb-dacamp/">htt...

Re: What have we missed?

Is it possible to add built-in speakers to the Raspi? I mean, without using the headphone jack for that.
If not, that would be a nice addition for all sorts of handheld projects.

amiga65 & blc, thank you for your helpful input :)

Looks like I found a good match then; I'll definetely order one of those screens. I like how they apparently can still be used as an external monitor for other sources using the second input.
