audio issues

Rasp2b with either OSMC and Openelec 6.1 has an audio issue.

The audio becomes distored, as if it has a wrong codec
The audio is muted.
Both issues occur at random and the only way to correct them is by reboot

Re: addons with no correct structure

All the official video Kodi addons do not open. i understand the risks of unofficial addons. But the official video addons like RAI ON DEMAND and all the others, just do not open. But, they do open on Oranepi plus, Insengard15.2 on win10 and on a chinese RK3188 android based cheap streaming box. So ...

My Raspberry PI 2 B is making me sick, Every now and then, a new bug crops in, used as a media streamer. I am using Raspberrypi 2 b with both OSMC and Openelec, and the original power supply, with a new power lead. The latest bug is that ALL the addons I tried to instal from a zip file on a USB stic...

Re: of Insengard Openelec OSMC issues

This psu issue reminds me of when I used to do servicing. We used to have psu giving the correct voltage but when loaded, there was half, or less current available due to faulty, leaky electrolytic capacitors, which when tested, were ok. Meantime, I still have some minor issues: Openelec: Cannot set...

Re: of Insengard Openelec OSMC issues

solved by changing the power lead.
Dry joint ?
What I cannot understand is how on earth the same psu, with the same lead, maintains 5v @2 amps with a 2.5 ohms resistor for 20 minutes , with no overheating !

The same defective lead was charging another device successfully !!

Re: Openelc issues

I have since downloaded OSMC which is faster, does not have a sluggish mouse action , but does not have exapnd-rootfs command, so I can only use 680mbs, out of my 8gbs sd card.

Re: Openelc issues

As for SD cards suitable for Raspberrypi, here is a link : http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards I have since, solved the problem, by pressing the shift button, whilst booting the NOOBS, and selected Openelec, for online download. Kodi runs perfect, but, when browsing inside an addon, the usb connected mou...

Returns

After a few days, the sd card holder latch , of my PI 2 B, broke, and wanted to send it back for replacement or repairs. It was a drama trying to find the correct procedure to send it back. My emails were all, unanswered from both Swag and Pimoroni! Finally, I phoned Swag, but the phone was either a...

Re: Openelc issues

Barry, Thanks for your patience. Openelec does not state which files are corrupt. It says that I have to wait 120 seconds to repair. Is it a coincedence that OSMC is failing to boot? The PI is brand new, had it for 15 days and had only installed NOOBS on it. I now have returned my PI 2 B back to Swa...

I cannot remember which, but I normally use either Rufus or Win32lmanager. Should I try Phoenix?

As for OSMC, I have downloaded the app, which will download the OS online, directly to the sd card. I assume its the only available way

Re: Booting media

Thanks for your reply and patience.
Pardon my ignorance, because I am a newbie to Linux distros etc.
Just where can you see the partitions on an sd card ?
On an ISO OS image, I can see the various files and folders, kernels, OS etc.

Re: Booting media

The Openelec is opening Kodi, but when I exit Kodi, the proper way, and re-start Openelec, I have to wait 120 seconds to load, because it says, files are corrupted. When Kodi opens, I loose all my addons. Should I have partitioned the drive ? I have tried to load the OSMC, but the PI2 will not boot....

Re: Openelc issues

I am exiting from Kodi, then power off.
Then prmpted to wait 120 seconds because the files are corrupted.
When Kodi loads, I loose all my addons and have to start configuring Kodi from the start.

Could it be that I am not partitioning the SD card ?

Booting media

Can my PI2 boot from a USB stick ?
Does it makes anydifference between SD card and USB stick ?
Do I have to use any particular tool to format and mount ?
I make use of Rufus, Win32lmanager and SDFormatting.
