I have 2 Sony TVs, neither one has audio via HDMI. I installed VLC and get no sound playing MP3. Strange thing is I did get the "Center" test and the "Hello" siren to come through the HDMI cable. Not sure if it is a config issue in VLC or not. I will try the audio out to RCA to receiver later.

I have been trying to install the XBMC image from the Raspbian.org site on a 32g SD card. Everything is going fine until I get to step 9 " root@pisces:/xbmc-rbp# make -C tools/rbp/depends/xbmc" Along the way it says "consider adding 'AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR ([m4]) to configure.in and rerunning libtooliz...

Yes I think that was what happened. The laptop was tanked for resources, I was hoping she pulled it off. Great info here, I will try another machine and not use a Live CD.
