Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

I did what you suggested, and get the same issue. The power light comes on, but nothing else, no boot sequence or anything. The pi should be fine as I can boot raspbian on it. Would it be an issue using an microSD to regularSD converter? The pi1 has a full-size SD slot, and all I had around were mic...

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

I installed Raspbian lite, then used the curl command to install Screenly after following the raspi-config setup instructions. It fails near the end of the installation, at the database migration step. Near the end of the error message it says it can't read the database file. I tried running python ...

Re: Installing Packages Offline Via USB Drive

I am using a Pi 1, with the latest version of NOOBS.

Could you point me towards where I could find the Raspbian packages from the web on my working computer, to then transfer to the Pi?

https://packages.debian.org/jessie/armh ... i/download

the "apt-offline" command is not found by my pi.

Installing Packages Offline Via USB Drive

I am trying to connect my Pi to a university WPA2 Enterprise-secured network, via a USB official Pi dongle. I've gotten it to work before by connecting to the unsecured network, then downloading wpa_supplicant and wpa_gui, which let me put in the appropriate settings for the secured network. I'm not...

Deleting Linux Files From C Program and MYSQL

I would like copy, then delete a file from the Linux filesystem. Specifically, I want it to happen after I save a MYSQL table's data to a .csv file. I tried using a cronjob, but it fails after three tries, and complains that the file to be removed does not exist. I think it is getting confused, tryi...

Re: Trying to dump mysql data

1. No (But this should not be a problem, I copied that error message from the web, it is the same for my Pi, except the file in question is at /root/DataLog.csv) 2. root 3. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 270 I Looked at the link you provided, and tried chown root.root /troot/DataLog.csv -v chmod 1777 /root/...

Re: Trying to dump mysql data

I have already tried using a spesific file path, and got:

ERROR 1 (HY000): Can't create/write to file '/data/outfile.csv' (Errcode: 13)

I actually have Googled this, and have not been able to fix it, hence the post here.

Trying to dump mysql data

I am having trouble getting a text file dump (CSV) of a mySQL table ("Monitoring)" on my Raspberry Pi. I'm new to mySQL and C++ in general, and am modifying existing code from a tutorial on building a temperature and humidity sensor (below). http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Temperature-H...

Backing up Entire SD Card Without Eating Up Space

Hello, I want to make backups of my entire SD card. I've used the Win32 Disk Image, but it creates .iso files as large as the SD card itself (16GB) even though there is 2GB of material on the card max. Is there a more space-efficient way to back up the entire card, and still be able to create bootab...

Re: apt not installed -- Brand New Pi

You're right. I'm using Raspbian. I was trying "apt get" but should have used "apt-get". I'm used to linux mint, there the little dash does not seem to be required.

apt not installed -- Brand New Pi

Hello, I am trying to update my pi's software. It is brand new, the only thing I have done so far is connect to the internet via wi-fi (which works fine). The apt package manager does not seem to be installed, which is strange since I thought it should be included with this distro automatically. Whe...
